Is it possible to remove the color coat of a Beast Wars Transmetal/Transmetal 2 figures chrome parts in order to expose the normal chrome underneath?

If so, how can it be done?

Just handle the figures for a while. On most of the damn things, it'll come off by itself...

I've been wondering about this same thing recently. I've been considering commissioning someone to repaint or repainting myself my original tm Rattrap which of course is chipping like crazy but not all the way off. I'd love to know too.

If there is...buff it like a madman maybe? Most chrome plating (or vaccum applied) is colored in the chrome. If it's just a transparent colored clear coat over silver then buff it out like crazy.

Be really careful with some rubbing alcohol. It'll go after the color first, then attack the chrome itself.
