    My thoughts

    NO FRIGGIN' WAY

That CAN'T be the series finale, there has to be another episode. You can't end a show like Smallville on such a cliffhanger.People will be dying to see a conclusion

    SPOILER SPACE

1)Clark trapped in the Phantom Zone
    2)Chloe and Lionel getting attacked
3)Martha and Lois dying from suffocation in a remote location
4)Lana siding with Lex who's possessed by Zod

Pretty much armageddon if you ask me

Come on season 6,I PRAY there's a season 6 or at least a made for TV movie to put some closure on this cliffhanger

I watched it but my digial cable was acting up during the whole show... It would be fine one moment then all garbled the next. Every channel I changed to that was airing Smallville was like that... (also other channels too) :thumbdown  I'll try again when it airs over in the west coast in 3 hours. Hopefully it'll be fine again... if not I have to wait for it to air on Space over the weekend.

    Good episode though! Zod! :rock

There was a Superman Returns TV spot during the WB airing of Smallville... you can view it here. (3.57MB WMV format)

I remember reading on this board that this was the final season? Please correct me if I'm wrong,I tried google searching the subject but no luck

Man Lana's naieve, she's know Lex for years. She can't be that dumb.

And how's Clark gonna get out of the Zone?I bet Lionel acting as Jor-El's avatar has something to do with it.Maybe he makes a sacrifice and takes Clark's place in the Zone.

It was assumed that this would be the last eason since it introduced major Superman villains like Brainiac and Zod, and since no DC show lasts past 5 seasons. However, it can't be the last one with an ending like that. There would have already been an announcement of cancellation, and it would have been recent (no time to change the ending), and there would have been a huge fan outcry online. Remember Angel.

Smallville is being picked up by the CW channel for next year. The official announcement should be next week.

Did anyone catch how Jor-El called Fine the "BRAIN InterActive Control"? Yeah, kinda hokey, like all of Smallville's nods to the comics, but I enjoyed it :)

Grrr, it's going to be a long wait to find out how they resolve this. I wonder if they're going to use the "Superman II" solution to get Clark out of his predicament...

    What is the CW channel?

OK, right off the bat this episode rocked with the shadows and the ship grabbing Lex. Superb direction in this episode. Felt like I was in the movies. Lex's b*tch-slap of Lionel into the windshield was wicked! I'm surprised he survived it. I thought Lana was great in this episode playing the frightened witness of Lex's actions. Brainiac was wicked as ever. When that car came crashing through the Daily Planet's office and Clark caught it with his hand my jaw hit the floor! :rock  The Clark and Chloe love affair begins :rolleyes2  ...I kind of wanted more action in the Clark vs. Lex showdown. The Zod and Lana love affair begins! :rock  Poor Clark.

    Oh man.....
    Oh man.....

I can't wait for the next season! I can't wait to see how Clark is going to get himself free out of the phantom zone. Rumor has it that in the next season, Brandon Routh (The new Superman) will be in the next season's opening, as a Superman from a differant dimention.

The last scenes of the episode with Zod/Lex and Lana in the destructive smoke totally reminded me of the scenes of Anakin and Padme on the Volcanic planet in SW Episode three.

That's true. I hadn't thought of that. My first impression of it was like seeing an anti version of the scene from the Superman returns trailer where we see Lois and Superman on top of the Daily planet. It was like an evil version of that.
