Haha! How silly we were back then.
Yes. I looked months for one and managed to find it at some place that only had one peg of deluxe movie transformers. Now I can't go to a store without finding Bumblebee.
I think I got 2! and I still have one sealed!!!
What was the pegwarmer back then?? I can't remember.
I got mine via the very first shipment BBTS got. I think it was around 12.99 or 14.99 before shipping.
And I do remember him going over 40 USD on e-bay for about 3 weeks.
I remember the cyclops "drones" (Camshaft, Swindle, Payload) pegwarming a lot.
Stockade, I think.
yes, i remember a guy at our local toy shows having one for sale at $45 and me telling my wife loud enough for him to hear, " i can wait an extra month and get it for $10 next door at target!"
i guess we our own worst enemy and why theres BBs EVERTWHERE!!!!! :/
Payload, AKA Pegload
I still have my Premium Bumblebee MISP.
Payload and Ice Megatron, if I recall.
The TFTM Concept Camaro BB went for crazy prizes (through re-sellers) in our country until the local distributor brought in more, then the TFTM line went on clearance, 50% off SRP.
Another one that was sold for exorbitant prices by re-sellers was the ROTF Ice Cream Truck Twins, then the same thing happened, the local distributor brought in so many ROTF Deluxes (including the 2 packaging versions of the ICT) and at 50% off again.
Wait, there are movie toys that AREN'T Bumblebee?
I was on a cross-country trip when this supposedly came out, and I must have drove my girlfriend crazy looking for that little bastard!! I stopped at many, many Targets & Walmarts along the way and never found him.. The fruit of those labors turned out to be a 20th Anniversary Masterpiece Prime near Medford, OR. They had like 10 of him!! Pretty sure it was marked down to $40, not sure what it originally sold for..
Later that fall I ended up living in rural NH where hunting was a big pain in the ass, and bought Concept Camaro BB off of eBay for something like $37 shipped. At the time, I felt burned.
Ironically, I found him on the shelf a week or two later in Lowell, MA. I bought two, and still have one MOSC.
Nowadays I'd gladly shell out extra cash not to go through those kind long of hunts again. If I recall a few Animated Voyagers were just as hard to find...
I ran the toy dept at my walmart at the time. Easy pickins'
Well, in my collection anyway. Can't speak for my Wal-Mart though.
I think I only saw Stockade once or twice, actually. Odd.
Hmm, Tuner Mudflap? Hehe.
Pretty sure there's a Cliffjumper repaint as well...
My walmart just got the last wave of dotm, sadly target is selling bumblebee (thats all they seem to have left) for over $15
