I dont know about you guys but i miss the 80's man we had the best cartoons, toys, programs, the VCR that used to do a Z when you open it and close it, and also the video games well at the time they were cool. Man I miss the 80's

We had alot of kick ass cartoonss:

    - Transformers
    - GI.JOE
    - Thundercats
    - He-Man
    - She-ra
    - Goldorak
    - GoBots
    - Mighty Mouse
    - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    - Ghostbusters
    - Garfield
    - Scooby Doo

    and so on....

Man those were the days when you came home from school and straight into the T.V until supper time, and Saturday mornings were the best. I have Teletoon Retro where i can watch all the old shows all over again.

I don't get when people say the 80's was the best decade for cartoons.

    It wasn't.

Because most of the guys who now post on forums grew up in the 80's and remember them as "teh bestest cartoons ever!"

If anything 90's had the best cartoons but most of the people on forums don't know that because they didn't watch cartoons at that age so have no idea what toons even came out during that time.

Batman TAS alone trums all of 80's cartoons.

    Also Scooby-Doo isn't from the 80's it's from the late 60' and early 70's.

80's anime is the shit man, the shit!

The 80's American Television, is merely nostalgic not really any real quality. But where is does shine is that feeling 80's kids(People who grew up in the 80's) have as they remember the happy and lucid moments of that time. 80's Anime on the other hand, fucking A bro.

90's TV is where we got real quality. Like Duck Tales, Batman: The Animated series, Superman: TAS, ANIMANIACS, Invader Zim, And the Tick.

This thread seems to be focusing more on a specific topic rather than broad topic of that thread.

Im nostalgic as hell and appreciate a good technicolor classic, and born in the 70's, but it's the truth. Cartoons among many other things have improved over the years. The quality atleast, not sure about originality.

Don't forget Tiny Toon Adventures, Darkwing Duck, Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars, Freakazoid!, Pirates of The Dark Waters, Conan The Adventurer, SWAT Kats, The Mask TAS and the motherfuckin' GARGOYLES!

Also if you're from Europe there's The Adventures Of TinTin, Blazing Dragons, Highlander The Animated Series, Alfred J. Kwak, Iznogud, etc.

The 80s cartoon rules and is today my greatest era. The 90s and 00 dont even come close when comparing all of it togheter.

Sure ill give that shows during the mid 90s and forward hade perhapps much more story to it and so on but darn the 80s shows were aweesome in every way. Then add the feeling to walk into a toystor seeing all those wonderfull toys just lined up everywere.

Nothing to this day come even close to that feeling, I miss the 80s toy store

(and dont come with the crap that topdays toys are better, it has nothing to do with the point).

What!?! My life is a lie. It's still pretty good.

Oh god, I miss my childhood. There are still pretty good stuff today, but damn a lot of the stuff we got back then was better than what most networks are putting out there.

80's cartoons spawned more still relevant franchises than any other cartoon decade.

    Therefore we win lol

I don't know about you, but that tops any TV show whether it be from the 80's or the 00's.

God, the 90's cartoons were so good. Looked better, sounded better (As in, dialogue was less stupid), better stories, better characters.

And the 90's had Batman: TAS.

No show has managed to beat it in quality for two decades. Best of the Best.

I love '80s cartoons, but yeah, once you pull the B:TAS card, it's over. Gargoyles was 2nd best of the '90s.

But the mid to late '80s was my elementary school days and the early '90s was my middle school days, so it's all part of my childhood.
