Quite possibly the best adult themed animated series ever! The new season 3 set comes out tomorrow on DVD and Blu-ray. As much as I would like to have the entire series in High Def I already have the first two on DVD, so I wonder would paying a extra $10 be worth it just for better quality? Are there any other extras on the Blu-ray? How great does animation really look in High Def?

So where are you picking up your copy? Here are the sales prices based on online price checks:
*Updated Target is higher is stores.*
    Target:
    DVD-$19.99, Blu-ray-$30.95
    Walmart:
    DVD-$20.86, Blu-ray-$30.86
    Best Buy:
    DVD-$19.99, Blu-ray-$34.99
    Amazon:
    DVD-$18.99, Blu-ray-$30.95

Target seems to be the best bet for anyone interested.
    Go Team Venture!!!!

Aw man, this would be perfect to test out the new family Blu-ray player. As tempting as it is, I'm going to hold out for season 4 to drop so I can get the inevitable Venture Bros box set.

    Go Team Venture!

I wish season 4 would hurry up and come out. They need to green light a fifth season too.

    Fantastic series!

    1. Over-the-top homages and downright mockeries of old Hanna-Barbara cartoons.
    2. Diverse, well-developed characters, chock full of psychological and emotional problems.
    3. Highly esoteric references, akin to Family Guy (bleh), but actually relevant.
    4. The theme of the show is failure.
    5. Politically-correct approach to heroes vs. villians, simultaneously progressive and absurd.
    6. Unique, to say the least.

Can't wait for payday. Venture Bros. is one of the few shows I buy as soon as they come out.

getting my dad to watch anything but that 2 hour block of MASH or the countless reruns of Walker is hard to do.
But i got him to watch just one episode of VB and he laughed his ass off.
Brock is just so bad-ass that i am getting the first 2 seasons on DVD so he doesn't have to wait to watch it.

no disrespect, NemesisBruticus, but there is some serious cowflop on AS compared to this show.
Xavier, for one. Tim and Eric is another.

but since i have been a fan of the Hanna Barbera shows, i like VB a lot.

Gotta trick dad into watching Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law and see what happens.

Picked it up today at Best Buy. Target had no Blu Ray and the DVD set was more expensive in store. Looks nice most of the time. The added soundtrack is a really nice bonus since I dont think the price increase to Blu from DVD is fully justified since animated things tend to have a less noticeable increase in HD.

I watched the first two episodes and the image quality looks pretty nice so far on Blu. However, since this set is uncensored you're going to have to look at Dr Venture Sr.'s dong.:yuck  They should have kept the black bar over that imo.

But so far so good. I'm looking forward to enjoying the episodes I missed in this season. Cant wait till season 4 starts. Go team Venture!

Ordering on Amazon...now. Gotta find something else to get that free shipping.

For those of you unaware of Jackon Publick's blog, his newest post (Publick Nuisance -) says Season 4 is getting pushed back until Oct or Nev, but will be slightly longer at 16 episodes!

I hope we get another t-shirt club for this season.

So after finishing up the set I am a little disappointed in the lack of extras. There are plenty of deleted scenes but nothing else. The other sets at least had some funny video or interview in addition to the deleted material. Of course it's just a minor compliant to a otherwise great season.

And as for the abundance of male nudity there is one pay off for suffering through all those dangles. It's not much but there is a few quick shots of Mrs. Impossible in the buff, before you see her insides. Even still, wary fans should note that every blurred body part shown on air is completely non-existent on the DVD. Be warned.

I saw that last night *shudder* The uncensored voice I have no problem. I think the blurring and beeping make it funnier almost.
