I finally got my Reissued "classics" Soundwave in the mail and I was wondering about the placement of two of the stickers.

I'm refering to the two large red stickers that I have seen placed either on the opposite sides of the cassette door/robot legs (as seen on the original US instructions and catalog picture) OR placed on Soundwave's batteries/weapons (as seen on the original boxart and Microman version).

So where should these stickers go???

I put them on the battery weapons like I have seen in most modern renditions of Soundwave. I'll look for a pic...

actually, just look at the pop-out Soundwave in the book-style box it came in. That's how I did it.

It's a matter of preferance, you can put them on the batteries (like I do it)

Originals show them put on the legs, which I think makes the alt mode not look as clean.

Here's the box art. Look at the weapon in his hand for reference...

I always like putting them on either side, as ersatz speakers.

The 1984 Hasbro instruction booklet shows them on each leg, but the Takara instructions shows them on the weapons.

In that case, it all boils down to personal preference.

It's personal preference. I think they're clearly intended to go on the batteries to give them a Duracell-without-breaking-a-copyright look. Hell, I never even realized Soundwave's weapons were supposed to be batteries at all until 6 or 7 years ago because as a kid we followed the instructions and most other Transformers didn't cleverly hide the accessories in alt mode that way. However, because the original Hasbro instructions put them on the legs, there's certainly precedent. Just do whichever you think looks better.

Whatever floats your boat. It's your toy, put them wherever you want them.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who missed that feature about him. And I don't remember it ever being listed in the instructions either. I didn't even know his battery compartment could be opened for a long time. Then it was a few more years after that when it dawned on me that it was a battery compartment and his weapons were just that: batteries.

I swear the lightbulb above my head could have lit up New York for a week.

I always thought I was crazy because I clearly remember the stickers on his leg when I was a kid and I always followed the instructions. This time around I put the stickers on the weapons though. But like others have said, it comes down to whatever you prefer.

    Bang on.

Awesome, I'm glad someone else admitted this. As a kid, I had no idea the weapons doubled as batteries either, and it was only in recent years that I finally realized it. I was pretty embarrassed, actually.

Get another sheet of stickers and place them on both so you're right either way.
