If you have the $800 to blow and are willing to spend it, then go ahead and get it. Personally, I think that's way too much money to drop on it, but it's your cash and you should do what you want with it.

It's not an Encore reissue. It's a normal reissue that was released during the TF Collection reissue days.

And yeah, 800 bucks is waaaaaaaaay too much.

He aint Encore. And if you are talking about the reissue from a few years back, unless there has been a huge jump in price in the last 6 months, you can find him cheaper than $800.

Edit: Chaos beat me to it. What he had said.

i thought it was likely too much as i am not entirely sure a g1 Predaking goes for that much although i do know its a valuable thing

I've seen it go for $300 and that's about $200 too much for my tastes. I couldn't imagine spending more on it unless I won the lottery or something.

Encore is a line of G1 reissues. The G1 reissue Predaking was indeed a reissue, but was not part of the Encore line.

300 is fair for predaking, no more than that though, unless you are really in a bind to find him

Um, i have the set from a trip to HK a few years ago, and

    1) He ain't that great anyways *ducks to avoid flying rotten fruit*

    2) I got him then for 1200 HKD, and at that time it was 6 HKD for every 1 AUD. So that's 200 AUD. No way 800 USD is worth it.

Predaking didn't move that well the first time it was reissued.

Even then, plenty of people bemoaned the price, and that was before TOMY got their hands on Takara and prices went up.

I'd say the average price of Encore reissues is much better than the average price of TFC reissues back in the day.

case in point (and I know Encore Jazz is a "shelfwarmer")

TFC Jazz reissue - circa £40 delivered in 2002
Encore Jazz - circa £16 delivered in 2009

And the mould's been fixed in the interim, so the latter is better quality anyway.

Even in other examples, I think prices have got better since TakTom emerged.

I can't remember Encore Jazz's original price TBH. A definite improvement quality wise over the TFC version though. In terms of sustaining quality.. i think it may be hit and miss. There's been a few gripes over Prime and Bruticus.

Perhaps G1 isn't the best example to use... However, i do think TOMY are more conscious of profit margin than Takara were, particularly in relation to BT.. first there was it's 'evolution' in Kiss Play, then it's development into Alternity, with prices either going up, or quite a bit less toy for the same money. I'd contend that due to a combination of price, and the current climate, they'd be slow to turn out another run of Predaking.

They may prove me wrong of course.

I just recently picked up a Reissue Predaking MIB from Junkion for $250 + shipping. I think he's really cool to display, but isn't a very good toy to play with so you have to be happying paying that much for a display piece. I have to say that he gives good *click* though.

I think I spent about 150 on mine when it was first released.

Honestly, for 800 bucks.. I'd rather pay my rent lol! This toy is not worth 800.... Hell even at 300, i'd rather by Star Saber.

Predaking just isn't a toy that is worth more than 150 in my opinion...

I seem to recall him being $120ish. I got him from BBTS with my tax refund that year, but I know it was sometime after it had been out and the price had dropped a bit.

I just got a predaking reissue giftset on ebay for 150 shipped. I've noticed in the past month that the price has dropped. I missed out on one two weeks ago that went for 187. Now I'm glad I forgot to bid and ended up winning on this one.

Somewhere between $150 and $200 USD, IIRC.
