Son of a bitch. I've done my last dealing on the BBTS site. I had a Blaster in my cart some time back for preorder but opted for another site's cheaper price. Apparently it kept it in my cart and when I came home today I had an email stating that it had shipped--and charged me money that I did not have. Now I'm overdrawn because I forgot about something on that mucked-up new website of BBTS. Forgive me Lord, but CRAP.

Oh, that stinks. Maybe your bank can waive the overdraft fee, since it's a mistake like that. Most banks will let you off, as long as it's a one-time thing.

I switched to a credit card rather than a check card for preorders, because I almost bounced my mortgage payment when a TF shipped when I wasn't expecting it. My checking account was $90 short exactly when I could least afford it. Close call!

I don't think I can do that because of a goof up my car insurance company made within the last month or so. I was running low on cash then just as I am right now because it's the first of the month (bill time and I still have a couple I need to get out of the way :(  ). Anyway, they charged me for a full year's coverage accidentally (or maybe it was 6 months) but it was more than twice what I had in my account. I had plenty to pay the monthly payment and get by on the rest of the week, but when they did that it froze my account for a week until it could get cleared up. Again, wasn't my fault, but I doubt the bank would want to hear from me again so soon. :(

BBTS's service is great, I like how Joel handles things, but I just don't have any love for his new revamped site. Too much room for accidental things like this to occur, again, at a very bad time.

Oh well, at least I'll be getting a Blaster and Steeljaw to open, unless I decide to sell it. I already have a loose vintage set and I just wanted a sealed double.

If you take the money out of your register as soon as you preorder, then that will never happen......

Y'know, this has never happened to me before with BBTS, but they did the same thing to me!?!?! I usually have my pre-order sit there, usually a week, then pay for whatever I have set. I can't believed they charged me. I was short in my account to, but I work where I have my $$ so the accounting dept gave me a heads up so I won't bounce anything. The order would've put my account in the negative.

Hmmm... I'm confused about the BBTS problem. To the best of my knowledge, nothing would be "ordered" (nor would they know who you are) until you logged into your personal account and selected a method of payment.

If you preordered an item in this fashion, then changed your mind but didn't let them know you wanted to cancel, why is it a surprise that you were charged? How could they have known that? Perhaps I'm not following you completely.

For me, I did a pre-order, but I have the "pile of loot" feature set. I have had this set up before and they don't charge me till I pretty much submit my payment. With the case of Blaster, they just charged me without me submitting my payment request. Not to big of a deal, but I can see this causing some problems for some people.

Yes, I too, had it preordered but I could have swore that I cleared it out of my cart when I preordered (and prepaid when I had the available money) somewhere else. I suppose I simply forgot, but I simply don't like this set up they have. Too much room for innocent error that can lead to disaster like this incident. Well, if I disappear for a couple weeks soon, don't be surprised because my internet/cable bill was one of the next things I needed to pay. So much for that...

With a pile of loot, don't you have to have a credit cart on file? if so, then of course you would automatically get charged. If it's pre-ordered, they will do it as soon as they process your order. Sorry, but if you changed your mind, you should've logged in and updated your preorder list. Oh well, it's over with....

You can also use a debit card that can be used like a credit card, for instance a Discover/Mastercard/Visa debit card. Instead of it going to a credit balance, it comes out of your checking account.

Well, yeah, that's what mine is, but it still works the same way....Debit/Credit who cares....they still automatically charge when the item comes into stock....that's why I said, if the person takes it out of his register when he pre-orders it, he won't have to worry about messing his account up later....
