Springer is the archetypical action hero: great in a fight, unselfconsciously brave, confident, and always ready with a dead-pan sarcastic quip to lighten the moment. Someone you can depend on to ride in, save the day and be smug about it.

Springer prefers fighting solo (Ha!) and lending a hand to friends where he can. Though his easy self-confidence is one of his most notable features, actually being responsible for others weighs heavily upon his otherwise jocular personality. Nonetheless, Springer ascended to lead the Wreckers in many continuities. He has twice been named as Rodimus Prime's successor to take the Matrix of Leadership and lead the Autobots, though neither one actually came to pass.

Springer combines the thrusting power of his legs with his retro thrusters to move rapidly through the battlefield, leaping tall structures in a single bound. Although he is quite speedy, he is not faster than a speeding bullet

    Trailbreaker

It's hard not to like Trailbreaker. He's a good-humored cheerleader, always ready with a joke or comment to lighten the mood when things get dark. Sadly, Trailbreaker's joking is often a cover for his low self-esteem. His form is the most fuel-consumptive of the Ark crew, and his vehicle mode is very slow. As such, he feels like a useless drain on their limited resources. The Autobots know better, of course. Trailbreaker's good humor, bravery, and impenetrable force field are all of great use, but convincing him of that is hard, especially when he begins to mope about his handicaps.

Any chance the defensive strategist with the massive forcefield could stop the triple changer here???

Well, normally aggressive v. defensive would be a stalemate, but due to Trailbreaker's fuel inefficiency and good nature, he wouldn't be able to hold for long against Springer.

Wow, didn't know Trailbreaker was such an emo.
I just think Springer is a little too much to handle. I believe it would be a pretty good battle but Springer would be too much to handle.

    Trailbreaker.

Need I remind you all that Trailbreaker KO'd Grimlock with one punch? That Devastator stomped on Trailbreaker only for TB to get back up and keep fighting unharmed? Trailbreaker may have his limits, but in a real fight, you can always count on him. Even Springer knows that. Plus those great big cannons on his back aren't just for decoration. Also bear in mind that Springer is an up close fighter, a massive disadvantage in a brawl like that against Trailbreaker.

As to the tech specs, all the movie characters seemed to have "artificially" high tech specs, heck Hot Rods original specs were higher then Optimus Primes!

Nope, this fight goes to Trailbreaker. Who'd make a joke about it afterwards.

I would lean towards Springer on this one... as noted in the above bio, he's basically a super action hero, while Trailbreaker is a chubby jolly guy with a forcefield. Springer outclasses Trailbreaker in almost every domain.

However, that forcefield, and Trailbreaker's brilliant tactical mind might make all the difference. Normally "outsmarting" an opponent is a rather difficult and weak argument to make, but Trailbreaker is not only smart, but also a specialist in defensive strategy... and having an impenetrable forcefield is just the kind of tool that would allow him to put those smarts to best use.

I think I might go Trailbreaker, though it would be a narrow margin. Springer's a heavy, but his aggressive overconfidence would be precisely the type of trait that could be exploited by Trailbreaker and turned to his advantage. This is one underdog I can see winning, just because the mix of personalities works in TB's favour.

It would be an interesting fight, and would basically come down to whether Springer could get through that forcefield. I tip Springer's endurance to outlast Trailbreaker, but tactically an interesting matchup

Traibreaker -- the guy who beat the energon out of Grimlock with ease. Who pushed back half of a flood affecting an entire city by himself. Who stopped the Dinobots from wrecking Teletraan 1 the second time around. Who can contain oil rig fires and protect others from acid rain. Also the bot who laughed in Megatron's face and lived without getting a scratch on him? Nevermind a full blown anti-matter explosion only put a crack in his windshield while the other Autobots were notably more damaged? Finally, remember this is the guy who single-handedly saved Kup from a time bomb of a planet after Kup killed roughly a dozen other Autobots (in bulky radiation armor).

Also, we don't know how fuel efficiency is defined in this series since in the cartoon, TB was able to encase the entire Autobot Army ('84 and some '85 bots) in a gigantic forcefield anchored to Cosmos so they wouldn't burn up in the sun. He then had to hold that forcefield long enough for Chip to get rid of some bad programming in Cosmos via Teletraan 1 and finally, had to hold it for 93 million miles back to Earth. Afterwards, he still went on to fight the Decepticons. He can also project that forcefield of his as a weapon like he did against Rumble that one time in the cartoon.

I'd say his biggest issue is his inferiority complex. That could get in the way but the tech spec says he can usually pull it together in the end.

As for Springer, come to think of it, I'm trying to remember who Springer's beaten and no one's coming to mind. I remember him getting pimp-smacked around by comic Galvatron but then again, and to be fair, everyone got the crap kicked out of them by super-overly-god-powered Galvy. He's taken on a lot of the super-powered bad guys and lived but he didn't do so well against Wreck-gar (mixing comic and cartoon). And looking over Springer's deeds on wiki, nothing impressive is coming to the front aside from leadership ability.

I think TB has this one.

I like springer and I actually think he's the better fighter and later down the line he'd be up there bt I just can't see him beating TB so that's who I'll vote for. Good match up though.

Trailbreaker. Durable, gutsy and doesn't need all the flash. He'll grind out a victory.

Gotta go with one of the originals here TRAILBREAKER! I don't doubt Springer would be all over his ass but like others have stated I think he could find a way to pull it out in the end. Damn this is tough yo but I'm stickin' with TB. Guess it doesn't matter though because it looks like the winner faces Superion. Oh well.

I gotta give the fight to Trailbreaker for an upset here. As others stated I think his firepower is as good if not better than springer, and his forcefield will keep springer back at bay. Combine the firepower, forcefield, and the tactical knowledge together and I think he could grind out springer. While Springer has the speed and the triple changing ability to maneuver well against Trailbreaker, I honestly can't see him getting in close and past the forcefield. If Springer did get in close I think Trailbreaker could handle him in the brawl, as noted earlier with him taking on the dinobots, etc...

gotta vote springer on this one. this would be a close fight but in the end springer would be standing
