Just read it. Holy slag that was good! The ending was not what I was expecting. It took me completely by surprise. I can't wait for the next issue!

    Regeneration One #81 Discussion

Downloaded this just a short while ago and my first impressions are mostly positive. I have fond memories of the original G1 comic, particularly Furman's run, so I was really looking forward to this revival. The story was a bit on the slow side, mostly setup for future issues, but that was to be expected. But the last page made up for it (I won't spoil anything here). There was a good mix of old and new(ish) characters, some old favorites as well as some lesser known ones who hadn't before appeared in the U.S. Marvel series, such as the Wreckers and the Deluxe Insecticons.

Overall I enjoyed it, and can't wait to see how this storyline plays out.

I haven't read Marvel TF series... Can I follow the story if I start this series from issue 81?

    Questions!

    Are they dead?!

Did Megatron annihilate Earth on his own? Is Galvatron still underwater? And are Spike/Fort Max anywhere?

I haven't read Transformers comics since issue 80. Although, I'd skim through the Dreamwave era issues and I did read a handful of Furman penned one-shots.

Anyway, reading issue 81 was a dream come true. I smiled at the word "breems" and I gasped at the ending.

Can't wait for more! I'm very happy and satisfied. :D

behind Bludgeon when he's talking to Soundwave? Looks kinda like Thunderwing?

An interesting twist. It was pretty awesome to see a mixture of G2 characters, new characters, and some G1 characters (Deluxe Insecticons!) that we haven't seen in the Marvel series (well, sans G2 I guess). I like how Kup is still using his Targetmaster-styled gun, even if he (doesn't?) have his Nebulan partner.

Also .. wow, you leave Earth for 21 years and THAT happens. Yeesh!

    Yes. The shadow matches
    Thunderwing
100%. Not unlike Furman to bring back one of his most famous villains.

It was simply superb...the story, the way the characters had developed ('Sensible' Hot Rod...), the little hints (too many and too spoiler-y to list) and the final few pages where it all goes belly up...

It's not often in life where the reality matches up to your anticipation, but Regeneration One certainly did (at least, for me). Made my day!

That ending. That didn't happen. Tell. Me. That. Didn't. Happen.

Also, shouldn't Perceptor be dead? Or did he get caught up in the Action Master thing without getting a figure?

Yep. If you have any questions, TFwiki.net is a good place to find the answers in case you don't get a reference.

Question 1. Who are you refering to?

Question 2: I'm wondering that to.

I bought digital. Saves gas :)

    I think it is him.

Especially after how he's been treated in the IDW books. (Yeah, I know this is IDW, but I count it as Marvel.)

Holy f-balls that issue was incredible. The beginning was a little iffy but my god that ending was glorious. The ending was truly a sight to behold. I cannot wait for next month.

Leadfoot as a Wrecker. Nice. Reverse movie homage?

Bugs coming out of soundwave's chest was weird.

Yeah. I like that they're sticking G2 dudes in. At least it's not completely discarded.
