I saw the reel steel trailer the other day and it doesn't look that promising to me. I want to know what other members think. So write down which one you think is better. Thanks!

Two very different movies that involve robots. I expect Real Steel to be entertaining, but nothing groundbreaking.

Yeah, because Transformers pioneered boxing robots.

That was one of the instances where the ripoff came out before the original.

    Real Steel looks cool.

And it isn't a rip-off of transformers just because it has robots in it, for christ's sake.

I think Real Steel will be a good movie, but I doubt I'll enjoy it as much as I enjoyed DOTM. I heard test audiences loved the movie and that a sequel is already being planned with robot MMA fighting.

Reel Steel is Rock'em Sock'em Robots the movie. I don't think you can really compare it to Transformers because the robots aren't sentient, and the focus is competition based, not invasion based.

Honestly RS has far more in common with the Rocky films than it does with DOTM I think.

"Transformers" were the first Transformers. The first transforming alien robot, however, was Raideen.

I would tell you to have some common sense, but what do I know? I clicked on the goddamn movie forum.

Seriously, Transformers were not the first robots ever. Quit spewing blind hate on whatever you percieve to be a "threat" to Bayformers. Michael Bay would never be your White Knight.

"Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots The Movie Vs Transformers Dark of the Moon"

The title should be fixed to this.

The first thing I thought when I saw the Real Steel trailer was: "Wrestling Transformers!"

The graphics are just like the ones of Transformers. Well I wouldn't expect otherwise knowing it's a Paramount movie.

I think Real Steel looks pretty good and I'll probably at least look into renting it on XBL once it comes out

I think he was refering to the conspicious similairity on the design of the robots, Real Steel dudes have some very "Transformeristic" shapes to them, they look like movie-verse designs but simplified.

And I think both have their advantages, I doubt that Real Steel will have a complex story like DOTM had [annoying prick quoting my words and laughing at in 3...2..], nor the awesomeness in the action scenes, characterization or voice-cast, but that's just my personal opinion, its possible [though very unlikely] that Real Steel will have better story or characterization.

BUT, I think Real Steel trumps Transformers on the "main human lead" trait: Hugh Jackman is God's answer to the question "What if Charisma itself sprouted a pair of legs and decided to become an actor?".

The story also seems like its going to amusing: Who doesn't love that always classic story of a casted-out man trying to return to his glory days [while trying to become closer to his son, no less]? This film has the potential to be a Rocky for Kids/Teenagers/Strange but Adults/Even more strange but even more awesome grandpas.

The robot fight scenes look cool too.

All in all, I say is a matter of personal taste.

Besides, the two movies barely have any similarity other than "they both have robots": DOTM is a War-movie, Real Steel is a sports movie, two ridicuously different areas.

I was referring to the design and over all aesthetic of the two.
