One of the things I was never keen on with Episode One was that a lot of the cities seen were mostly composed of the same buildings over and over again (RAM limitations, not to mention that Episode One was done on a 750Mhz P3). So I've decided that for Episode Two, I'm going to build a variety of new buildings. Here are the first few, in a city-type setup:

This is the first half dozen or so; there will be a lot more by the time I'm finished (Episode Two is being done on an Athlon 64, with XP64 and a gig of RAM, so I can splash out a lot more ;)  )

Niiice...kinda reminds me of the Beast Wars version (the part where cheetor had a dream of being back on Cybertron) only this one looks better rendered and not so overly dark.

As kick-ass as always, Draven. These are much better than the tiled building blocks you had in Episode 1.

One thing I would add in terms of modeling, would be some roads resembling interstate highways/turnpikes/etc/ both on ground, as well as a few long bridges with a few twists and turns.

A crit on the textures though. I'm assuming they're not done yet, but I think there needs to be some kind wear and tear and also variation in color. Everything is just a little too blue. It might be good to take a look at some of the comics and other interpretations of Cybertron. Granted, I'm not in any way suggesting you do a rainbow planet either. :p

    I agree. I prefer having variety :)
Way ahead of you, man; look at the building to the left of the shot; see those tunnels? I've already modelled a set of road sections that I can build into any road layout I want ;)
The textures are preliminary ones; mainly there to get the scale right for the textures.

Nice work Draven. :)  I think it could be handy to make several larger, flatter buildings, like domes, factory like halls with slanted roofs or the like. Those you could just scale a bit up or down, stretch (even by placing them next to eachother) or make some easy detailing differences on so you could get some easy variations. Shouldn't be too hard to render as well as it's just a sphere with some detailings I think? Just to break up the sky a bit from all the towers. :)

Good stuff sofar! looking forward to the next episode!

Excellent work, Draven - Ep 2 is going to be one serious treat for the eyeballs, looking at this! Are you going to beat these structures right up, or build separate 'wrecked' buildings that can be swapped out?

    Eagerly awaiting more! :thumb

Those buildings are simply amazing. I love the new diversity. As always Draven you never cease to amaze me.

Episode 2 is going to be one hell of a cinematic treat.

    Cheers :rock
