Yeah, they're going to fix it. I was just frustrated because I would have liked for the CSR to at least acknowledge somewhere in the conversation that this was the third time I had the issue. At some point they need to deviate from the script at least a little.

Got my 360 back when it first came out. Soon after, we bought a new puppy because our other puppy was lonely and depressed so we got him a friend. New puppy decided one day to take a wizz on the beloved 360 and the 360 died......my husband and I decided to go to Zellers and buy a new 360. We brought it home, cleaned up the peed on the old 360, put it in the box and, two hours later, returned it and told them it didn't work when we plugged it in and they took it back. I feel like such a criminal <_<
I am seriously repaying some Karmic debt. A quick survey of the internets reveals that it is probably a bad DM board -my timer light just flashes green. Some intrepid individuals have posted some steps on how to repair it, but I have an extended warranty so I'll go that route first and see what the cost is. I am sure there will be some cost. I have built a few PCs and am comfortable with circuit boards and know how they function. But I don't trust myself beyond modular construction\upgrades.

I have had my Xbox 360 broken FOUR times and I can seriously understand what you are saying. After the third time that is when I bought a PS3. So far my PS3 has worked perfectly every time and my Xbox has broken down and gotten repaired again. I posted this in another thread but here is what my friend said and it is very true. "It is not a matter of IF your xbox is going to break down but WHEN it is going to break down" I am not a Sony only fan or anything but overall I have to admit they make a better console and whenever games are for both platforms I buy the PS3 version because I want a game I can always play if I want down the road.

Bringing back an almost dead thread. Have you gotten your 360 back yet Smasher? I ask because mine died 2.5 years into its warranty last Tuesday. It's now kind of stuck in UPS Limbo due to the Hurricane in Texas.
Funny that you asked -I just got an email that it is repaired and has been shipped back and was going to post that information. The UPS tracking number just says "billing info received" so I guess it is on the dock ready for them to pick up.
Update: So I got the 360 back on the 29th. To clarify, I got a 360 back on the 29th. Although I didn't get the new form factor (no HDMI) it is definitely a new console. I got new instructions, new AV cables and a new PSU. I guess they are clearing out the Core stock or something -it had a cover for where the HDD goes. Aside from the Service Rep annoying me I think Microsoft did right by me. It is a shame this situation exists at all, but the turnaround time was pretty good.
