Its gonna be fun exchanging them, my box is marked 55 but the guitar itself is marked 65. I havent had any problems out of my whammy bar though.
My box and guitar are both 95055. The whammy bar isn't really busted, it just isn't responsive as it was on the PS2 guitar. My friend's PS2 guitar had a busted whammy bar and it would barely register even when you pushed it down all the way. My whammy works, but I have to push it all the way down for it to get a good response. I guess I'll just take it back to Best Buy in a few days and exchange it for a different number.
I picked it up yesterday. Whammy Bar is fine, but there's a long delay on "star power" when moving the guitar controller to a vertical position.
I thought my bar was fine too. Sadly, when playing yesterday morning I noticed some issues. My set does fall into the the 'defective' category or serial numbers.
Petitions are only lame for unimportant things. Toys. Movies. Medical research. The ozone layer. But for Guitar Hero? I think training our population to stave off meteorites with the power of the UNRELENTING ROCKOUT HOOCHIE KOOCHIE warrants any approach.
Apparently the patch is available and works wonders. I can't personally verify as I'm at work (surprise surprise).
I got the patch, noticed no difference, but then I don't know if my guitar was even defective, the change in the whammy bar position is already enough of an obstacle
I d/l'ed the patch and it seems to be effective. I have not run into any issues as of yet post patch as least.
I played with the patch and noticed a difference, it's a little more sensitive so it's easier to flex the whammy up and and down.
RedOctane admits to Guitar Hero II patch problem Just doesn't end does it? At least they've acknowledged it I guess. http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=75328
christ. I got the patch, whammy works fine now. No system freeze or red ring of death yet. Maybe I'll be like Vang and hold off on playing for a bit too.
