Who thinks the new series will have an episode to rival Backwards?

I always wanted more Red Dwarf, but after the very meh "Back to Earth" my expectations are lowered a bit for this new season. I sooooo want it to be good...

If anyone wants some mild spoilers here's an episode list and a sort-of synopsis. I personally am avoiding any spoilers however mild but to each their own.

I am cautiously optimistic. I hope it will be good, but the last few seasons don't inspire a lot of enthusiasm.

I'm hoping it's good. Red Dwarf is perhaps the most inconsistant series I've ever been a fan of.

When is this actually on in the UK?

I see adverts for it on Dave, but all they say is 'coming soon', I've looked ahead in my guide and seen nowt.

I've heard October 4th. Apparently it's been made simultaneously available to PBS affiliates here in the states, too.

October 4th, eh? That's a pretty good early Birthday present for me. (If it really is good.)

    PBS apparently.

While I have some hopes, not all those hopes are particularly optimistic ones.

I happily snapped up all the series on DVD, but 'Back to Earth' isn't likely to join them as a purchase anytime soon. This could so easily be 'Back to Earth Again'.

Well, in theory, at least. I've checked my PBS affiliate's website and there's no mention of Red Dwarf anywhere on its schedule for October.

Don't sweat it Switchblade. I'm sure each episode will be all over the 'net shortly after airing.

I still think BTE was better than the majority of series 8. I know that's not saying much, but it was.
