Coming soon....the remake to Ghost Dad!

In all seriousness, this doesn't look too bad, though I hope there's a scene where someone shouts "WOLVERIIIINNNNNESSSSSSSSS!!!"

    AVENGEEEE MEEEEEE SON

Looks badass, can't wait, original was fun. Since GI Joe 2 was delayed this will be my cheesy military action war movie of 2012.

I don't find these remakes annoying, I find everyone complaining annoying. Like, extremely annoying. Nobody's forcing anyone to watch anything. It's not like they're taking away the originals.

I love the original Red Dawn. It's one of my favorite movies. Watching it right now, actually, and I'm sure I'll love the remake. I've been waiting for footage since the rumor mill started and I can say the wait was worth it.

Well normally, I would see the reason in remakes if it's to showcase the director's own vision of the property, and maybe to fix any flaws in the original material (IE, if you thought the original sucked, maybe the remake would be better). Most of the time though, it's for money.

Not quite sure which camp this one falls into yet, but I guess we'll find out in time.

This looks good. I don't think a remake of Red Dawn is necessary, but I would like to see it just because I like th premise so much and I think you could adapt it into just about any time period. I will be surprised if this movie doesn't make a lot of money with star power such as Chris Hemsworth (who just had Thor and The Avengers) and Josh Hutcherson (who just had The Hunger Games).

I was waiting for the blond chicks tongue to whip out of her mouth and choke the guy next to her.
SO Adrienne Palaki is like the resident badass now between this and GI Joe Retaliation

I like the original but given who is taking the place of the USSR in the remake I will not be seeing it.

North Korea invading the US? serious its completely unbelievable. China yes but not North Korea.

in the original the USSR and allies were a believable invader but they made a boneheaded call on the remake.

but screwing up stuff seems to be a hallmark of a remake.

It was made as Chinese but Hollywood pussied out and didn't want to offend them (China brings in too much $$). So they went in and digitally altered them to be North Korea.

Probably not a good sign on the quality of the movie there though to be fair, I didn't really like the original because it just seemed to be to mush like Cold War Propaganda for my taste. I just hope that Britain is still the only nation still independent and fighting as mentioned in the original.

And here I was hoping any of her chances at being a badass woman had been sunk thanks to her awful performance in the un-aired Wonder Woman pilot.

At least it has the reasonable excuse of being made during the Cold War, so it makes perfect sense.

This remake has no such excuse.

I agree. The original was a shameless act of preying on people's fears and hate-mongering. This remake will no doubt do the same.

Stupid people are unstable and scared of the world enough as it is. Show them a reinactment of what they want to be afraid of, and they'll make it a reason to stockpile guns and spread racial hate.

Best case scenario is that most of the population will see how contrived and small its message is. Worst case is we'll begin our jump into the next era of McCarthyism. Fun.

I think you're giving what will most likely be a laughable remake waaaaay too much credit.

Other then making the enemy look different & a line of dialog changed to NK, the plot is still the same.

I am aware of that and in my opinion it only makes it worse as Hollywood can't even stand on its own now and has to kowtow to China out of fears of losing financing dollars.
