To maintain a size that is still acceptable, there are times were you have to fiddle with the head so it can slide down properly. As well, the head needs to be pushed back, when sliding it out for robot mode, as the front of the "cap" catches on a inner chest piece, that protrudes out. The original plans for the light pipe eyes were scrapped, as I couldn't get it to work. The eyes always appeared dark or almost black. So now the eyes will be hand painted. The launcher is articulated, as shown in the photos below. The missile doesn't fire, due to the design. However, it can double as a hand held weapon. This will be the most limited upgrade set yet. 150 red sets, and 75 black sets. Original post: So I was disappointed when Hasbro announced Generations Red Alert, and he was to come with a black head. I prefer the red head, because I think it makes him more unique compared to Sideswipe. And I also missed out on Henkei Red Alert. So basically, this is my attempt to get Red Alert how I want him. The head is really rough. The final version will be smaller, more detailed and refined. He'll have light piped eyes, and maybe a set of painted eyes with a red backing. The hand gun is based on the G1 gun, but modernized. The shoulder rockets is the same deal. I want to rework it, so it can swivel up and down. It can also double as a hand gun, as seen in one of the photos. I was thinking of doing new emergency siren lights, but its going to be too much extra work, for a released kit. Anyways, once I ship out more of the Blaster preorders, I'm focusing on finalizing this kit. I'll be releasing it in both a red head and black head sets, depending on which color people like. I like the existing size of that head, it works for me. If you ever feel like getting rid of that proto if it's unwanted, you just PM me. haha! it's really neat.
Consider me intrested,mainly for the weapons although I like the head as well. Any plans to recolor the weapons for Sideswipe?
Wow, looks kinda like the wfc cliffjumper head but skinnier. I wonder if that could be used for the mod too. Now a light kit would be cool to add with the head as an upgrade.
Actually, it won't be too much smaller. The current size can't elevate down, for car mode. So it needs to be shrunk down by 10-15%. I'll be doing remolds of the weapons for Sideswipe. I feel these two deserve their own weapon designs.
Got me a Henkei Red and an army of Generations Reds, I can certainly use this to make SOMEBODY stand out.... Not sure which color preference, but I'll certainly bite on something! D/L
Where do we put in the preorders? I hope I didn't already miss out on the Skyfall kit. 3D Print or CNC Machining? CNC gives you a part ready to mold without much more work, but it is significantly more expensive.
As long as your on any of the active waiting lists, you'll get a PM when I begin taking orders, which will include all the details. I'm using a service thats similiar to CNC machining. I actually remade all my Blaster upgrade parts this way.
I will also be ordering this and the Darkwind when they come, I got the Skyfall and that thing was nice!
Holy shit yes! After my Red Alert purchase I was extremely sad to notice that my RA was built with no eyes. lol. So a new head sounds great for my blind figure, way to go yet again Venksta! You always knock it out of the park
