So my friend and I want to play some games in where the campaigns are compatible for online co-op like the Gears series.

I know of a few, but can some of you recommend me some for the Xbox 360. All games of any quality are welcome. The cheaper the better.

I was going to suggest the Gears series.. ehm :D

Well, do you have War For Cybertron? That's some excellent co-op material, and should be relatively cheap now :)

Portal 2 sounds cool, when it's on sale I'll look into it.

I love playing WFC, but apparently my friend is so hard on G1 that he can't see anything past it.

I enjoyed playing The Outfit in co op. Saints Row 2 has awsome Co-Op.

Some of these aren't great but can still be enjoyable (and most are cheap).
Perfect Dark Zero, Perfect Dark on XBLA, CrackDown (1 and 2), Halo 3-ODST-Reach-Wars, Tenchu Z, Rainbow Six Vegas (1 and 2), GRAW 2 (bot match with objectives), MUA (1 and 2), Too Human, Skate 3, COD W@W (full co-op)-MW2 (specific co-op mode), Lost Planet 2, Dead Rising 2, Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise. Kameo had a somewhat haggard co-op mode added, Fable 2 and 3 (2 has a terrible co-op mode though). Pretty sure one of the Armored Core games has co-op (For/4 Answer I think).

Out of all of those I would go with
    Saints Row 2
    Halo Reach
Rainbow Six Vegas 1 or 2
    Crackdown
    MUA 1 or 2

I am going to suggest Perfect Dark (The N64 original on XBLA). And speaking of this, does anybody know if there is any other game out there with something like the "counter-op" mode in Perfect Dark where the other player plays as an enemy in the campaign mode?

Also, I think Ikaruga on XBLA has 2 player co-op.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I checked out some video reviews on some of them.

Another friend and I are big time Tenchu fans and from time to time we'd go play Tenchu Z killing everyone with style.

Aside from Grears, Halo, War for Cybertron, and Castle Crashers immediately come to mind.

Man, you have to go for Borderlands. That's one of the best co-op experiences I've had- it's a huge game and yet I still played through it multiple times since you get better stuff the second time through.

Well, I'm already talking it up, so I might as well suggest F.E.A.R. 3. I suggest the hell out of it, in fact.

Seconded to hell. I don't even play FPSes, and I loved the hell out of it.

If you like shooters at all, and if you like XP/loot-based progression ala the Diablo series, and especially if you have any sense of humour at all (it's a very funny game on top of it all), then you owe it to yourself to play Borderlands.

And it's cheap. The Game of the Year edition comes with a voucher for all four DLC packs, and retails for about $30-40.

If you're looking for something free, try Spiral Knights. Its a fun little MMO dungeon-crawl brawler that plays and looks like Diablo meets Little Big Planet. The economy system in the game adds a surprising amount of meat to it as well. Not much of a campaign so much of an infinite number of dungeons though.

As for traditional games with a storyline and co-op mode, I've heard good things about Ghostbusters: The Video Game. It's probably pretty cheap by now.

    I'm really pushing for Borderlands.

I know the Armorcore series has pvp, but is there really one with online CO-OP?
