That could be considered cult-ish, old, indie, or just non-mainstream. I couldn't believe how many people had never seen 'Escape from New York' in that other thread.

Such as 'Duck, You Sucker aka A Fistful of Dynamite.' I was addicted to the Dollars trilogy and blind bought it when the SE landed a few months ago. Badass Leone western and subversive as hell.

Some others would be Videodrome, Dazed and Confused, and the original Dawn of the Dead.

Keep in mind, something like DOTD is pretty commonplace in geek circles, but a lot of the youngsters may not have seen it yet and are like "OMG running zombies r teh bombz yo! WTFBBQ."

    Anyways, you get it.

I would say Ran, but KA would throw a hissy-fit.

Also, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

I think Deefuzz mentioned Soylent Green somewhere, too.

    I remember one instance vividly.

I believe it went like this:

Me: Hey, guys. I just got Kurosawa's Ran for dirt cheap!
KA: weak! overblown historical melodrama FTL.
    Me: Suck it dry.

    The end.

    :lol  at KA.

To caglisotro: Masterworks edition. I know the Criterion probably has the better picture and sound, but I got it for 8 bucks sealed, so I can't complain.

I'm tired of Criterion charging 40 bucks for a single disc DVD. If they ever get into blu-ray or hd, it'll probably be 60 to 80 bucks.
