What am I gluing together? Well, mostly cosmetic touches, like antenna and armor, but occasionally a new balljoint, which I usually use a tiny screw, but in for smaller heads, it's just not possible.

Thanks for all the help everyone. Very helpful. And the Obama pic...I needed to attach a picture, and his hands could be glued together.

i cant beleave no one has mentioned technique all i use is the testors orange tube and hobby grade medium viscosity super glue. i use the super glue for fast bonding and glueing unrelated materials to each other like metal and plastic. the testors orange i use for bonds i can set aside without it falling apart (orange testors does not work on pvc though among some other plastics). even super glues take around 24 hours to fully set.

as far as technique as i mention before what i mean is knowing your glue and using it within its limits. JB weld is good for somethings but not everything. testors orange has a super slow set time. and super glue is awsome but it can be brittle at times.

so in short everybody has there favorites. i recomend sticking with superglue and testors orange they do work depending on how you use them. hobby grade superglue is better than dollar general superglue but they both work. the best super glue i have used in recent years is EXTREME POWER medium from Hobby Lobby it has a green label and should be in the model section

OMFG. let me just point out a reason NOT to use JB weld....
it must have some metallic property or ingredient.

Tried to JB weld some rare earth magnets just now...all I can say is WTF!

Want something super strong and durable? works better than most epoxies from what ive seen

Super glue with some baking soda

This old technique its amazing, problem is you gotta work FAST, since it hardens upon contact. It works great for really small areas that need to be glued together with enough force initially, and can be reinforced later with a different glue

Trust me, try to make some experiments, its worth the try :)

the metals in the JB weld actually reacted with the magnet. within seconds, the drop of JB weld on the top of the magnet, smoothed out and formed a blob around the entire magnet, perfectly layered.

I hate JB weld. I've had it setting on 2 parts of plastic today, and it's still not dry. It's been 14 hours, and the climate here is very hot and dry. WTF.

I went out and got more plastic fusion. same 2 parts of plastic are now bonded together 5 minutes after I put the super fusion on it.

Let me quadruple-endorse this! The baking-soda/Super Glue game is also AMAZING for gap filling, even EXTREME gap-filling. Best little tip I've ever heard or used!
