    Remember this thread

Well looks like I made the right decision in going. As Pony Corral offered me a job:rock

    Right now I'll be a dishwasher,although that doesn't mean I have to be a dishwasher 6-12 months from now:wink:

I enjoy my present temp job as an inbound call centre rep.But I prefer not to put all my eggs in 1 basket.Besides the other temps like myself were only hired for 1 account anyway.Once that account's done most likely so are the temps

And this restaurant is A LOT more classy then a Fast Food Restaurant. So next week I'm going to check out the orientation after work:D

You know, I don't mean any offense or anything ...

... but why not just update your old threads? You go to the trouble of finding them and linking to them ... so why not just bump them up?

    Congrats on the job, btw.

I wasn't trying to start anything, just sharing good news

And I'm asking honestly WHAT'S the difference if I posted it in a blog or in a thread in GD?Because I see plenty of threads that could just as easily be member blogs

How am I supposed to know WHAT goes in a blog and what doesn't if no one takes the time to explain it to me?Because it seems pretty subjective to me

Well, for starters, if your new thread is always directly linked to a previous one (which is almost always is when it has to do with your job), then its something that should go in a blog. In the blog, people can read, and see the progression. Threads that are started in GD are usually stand alone. Every now and then, there might be a followup, but its not that common. I'm sure many of us would love to know how your job search progresses, but the blog is tailor-made just for that purpose...to follow a progression of sorts.

I suppose most threads in GD could be posted in the blog, but again, they're usually on specific topics that everyone wants to put their two cents in on. In a blog, you can tell a story, which is basically what you do, with respect to your job. Hope that made sense.

To add in, blogs are mainly for personal topics whereas GD is more broad and allows for discussion instead of idle chit chat about personal lives...

Please in future, use the blog system.
    It's what it's there for.

You can even name your blog: "The Adventures Of Shaun C In The Real World...."

And start then off with "Last time, on The Adventures Of Shaun C In The Real World...." and have a link to the previous blog.
