The only thing that truly pisses me off about Stormtroopers is that they're killed so easily by Ewoks. Return of the Jedi always has been and always will be my favorite in the whole trilogy, but I still can't help but cringe every time I see a stormtrooper wince in pain after getting hit in the head with a small stone.

 

It's not that they get killed easily, just that they get killed by the wrong characters.

 

Realism.

Decepticons being so hard to kill, on the lines of invincibility, is just unrealistic.

And I don't completely understand why people say they're "killed so easily". From what I remember, it took tank fire and a bombardment of missiles from an air strike to take down many of the Decepticons.

 

It's especially confusing after Palpatine brags about "an entire LEGION of my best troops".

Then again, maybe that Legion was on R&R in the Death Star that day and a new unit fresh out of the clone tanks was on Endor that day...

 

yeah the whole endor battle baffles me,a rock is not going to knock a fully armored stormtrooper down.

In fairness, the Decepticons could be a lot worse;

 

The one thing that bothered me was how the rail gun firing had a ridiculous plasma/laser effect on it, which I guess was to make it look dramatic. Realistically, the rail gun round should have travelled almost invisibly, maybe trailing some smoke or burning tungsten spall, due to the friction and tungsten's properties at high temperature.

But you're right, a keg-sized spike of dense metal slamming into something at theoretically relativistic velocity is going to ruin their day, magic space armor or not.

In all fairness, the rock might have knocked the stormtroopers unconscious. They don't have to crack the armor to transfer enough force to a human's brain to concuss it. Also, since in the Star Wars universe kinetic weapons have been all but abandoned, the helmets and armor may not provide much padding or protection from impacts, and would be designed more from a environmental toxins/vaccuum, energy weapons and particle beam protection perspective. (Also, the empire buys its equipment from the lowest bidder)

The movie-verse Decepticons in a nutshell honestly.

I blame the script writers  

 

Because there is a large army of Decepticons and a small band of Autobots. If all the Cons were as strong as the Autobots then we would have no chance. In the first movie there was a lot less Decepticons and all of them were named. It was five vs eight. Not to mention only four of them were in the final battle and that was enough of a challenge.
With the gigantic army, they didn't have time to make everyone of them as tough as the others so they made the generics last about 5 seconds and the named Decepticons last 10 seconds.

Also the reason they were defeated so easily by humans is because it's a live action movie. If all the humans did was yell at the Autobots to beat the Decepticons, the general audiance would complain that they might as well have made it an animated movie since the live action actors did nothing but yell "Get them!".

 

I don't think it's really as big a deal as people think. It still takes airstrikes or Autobot assistance to kill most of the cons. Que's bomb devices count as Autobot assitance.

Only exception is Blackout, where Lennox got a lucky shot (and still required airsupport).

well at least in star wars the dark side actually wins in 2 films. it would be a better sequel if the autobots lost and the next film they found some way to win. this was all done because of rotf they could of used it as a launching to the third film with the autobots losing to the fallen. instead the autobots win and its like now what they basically killed a god like super power villian.

 

Didn't you hear? Megatron heard replacing his troop's armor with cardboard would save money.
