Umm honestly, they could give him some red and blue coloring in robot mode and it wouldn't look stupid. If that was the case, prime's red metal would look ridiculous.... and there needs to be a way to differentiate between the SKywarp or Thundercracker.

 

I say keep Starscream as-is. Get as far away as possible from those gaudy G1 colors.

 

I could easily overlook the bland colours if he had a much improved robot form, which is far more important IMO.

 

That could work. I can't see red, blue, and white possibly working upon Ape-chickenscream. We all agree that designed sucked. IMO.

 

I disagree. Movie Starscream is boring.
I mean think of it this way. A Transformers paint scheme is equal to their clothing. SS has been leader of the Decepticons since Megs disappeared. Plus SS is a flying ace, so he's got an ego to boot.
And Starscreams color is what; dingy gray? Hardly the colors of the Decepticon leader, or with someone of SS ego.
I would have preferred SS robot mode to have a few touches of color.
It would have made that boring mess look better.
