ok, so most of us know that megatron has the new look for fall of cybertron, i kept wandering why his look had changed, like did he upgrade or something. after seeing some trailers and gameplay vids i noticed he did have his old look soooo at some point during the plot of the game, does he get severely injured or damaged and have to be upgraded, maybe by a battle with optimus or by some treachery by starscream?
My guess is the dark energon inside him begins to grow more unstable so he has to get a body upgrade in order to sustain it.
I'm figure Dark Energon came back to bite him in the chassis. If it can bring a world to ruin, imagine what it could do to a person.
So what's the story with Optimus's new look if they cared enough to explain megs? Is it just a retcon of him getting the Matrix or what?
I think it would have been a better idea to have had some sort of body change in the first game. To begin with Megatron when he first takes the Dark Energon on board and then Optimus once he takes the Matrix. It would have established that these were significant events but obviously this was High Moons first big Transformers release and in their eyes i'm sure they'd have loved a sequel but wouldn't necessarily be able to plan thing's out like a second game was already in the bag if you know what i mean? High Moon has said Megatrons change is a big part of the story in FOC as stated above but Optimus ....? I'm really looking forward to how they explain his change.
It was a upgrade for him because of the war. He originally had a non battle like form and so since he's the leader now, he has a more armored and bulky appearance. In theory anyway.
Yep, Dark Energon will likely play some part ..... but i'm not counting out Starscream having some hand in Megatrons (At least in Starscreams mind) demise.
Since when has Starscream been able to? CODE: Megatron is going to be pissed when he gets back. By the guess it looks like STARSRCEAM IS IN SOME TROBLE BASED ON LOOKING AT HIS LEVEL. Oops. Caps. But in Prime Megatron is fine with him. For a short time.
Ok, first i think you misunderstood what i meant when i was talking about Starscream. I simply meant i'm guessing/hoping he has something to do with what happens to Megatron as lets face it, whenever something bad happens to the big cheese, Starscream is usually involved in some way, shape or form. Second, who's to say that the Starscream level isn't him running for his life since he's tried to off the boss (Again) and failed (Again) and since he finds out or already knows about what Shockwave has cooked up in his lab, figures he can use it to his own advantage. And lastly, i do hate that everything is supposed to fit into what happens in the TF: Prime show just because some lofty Hasbro person says they want all things TF to fit together .... because in my eyes and think about it for a second .... if everything we see in these games is supposed to fit perfectly with everything that happens in TF: Prime then basically Hasbro are saying G1 never happened as there are far too many continuity errors!

Something to do with the dark energon for sure. Maybe it's an upgrade that constantly fuels his body dark energon, which will make him an excellent campaign boss. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
