Ok, so right now, I literally have a headache so bad that the back of my neck feels like someone is trynig to reverse strangle me, and I want to vomit.

I like to workout, and there are supplements I take (no roids, no illegal) that help me get through working out early AM and then staying up and alert to work through my night shifts.

Basically, I left them at work, and this is the result. My car's been in the shop, and my girlfriend had some out of town stuff to do, so I had no way of getting them on my day off today. :(

I can't even SLEEP right now... two aleves and nothing. Want to go to CVS real quick, but don't really know what to get.

Anyone here who gets really bad migraines that has some quick, over-the-coutner advice?

Might not have anything to do with medicine (CM Punk wouldn't approve of such things), but I've found myself going to sleep with ice packs on the back of my neck & lower back before, and it was definitely worth it.

I usually just try to sleep when I get a migraine, along with aspirin and caffeine.

Maybe I am reading your post wrong, but are you needing a supplement and that's what's causing the pain?

    Maybe 800 mg of ibuprofen?

I haven't had a migraine in a long time. But when I did, taking aspirin or Tylenol just would'nt work for me. The only thing I could do to get rid of it was just puke.

But when I get just a headache, I take Advil. Tylenol doesn't work for me anymore.

Yea, it's the supplement. I guess it has caffeine in it, and outside of that, my diet has no caffeine at all, so when I don't take it, I feel like my life is ruined.

And, I went ahead and took some Advil. I still had to wait an hour before I felt ok enough to go to sleep, but at least it did something. I was able to get into my job at 6 somethng this morning, so I got my stuff.

    Thanks a lot guys.

Usually switch around , sometimes Ibuprofen works, and sometimes aspirin.

Maybe your headaches are weird like mine. Sometime's If I take 3 it just pisses whatever it is off and it gets worse.
Two will slow it down, followed by a 3rd later on if it's not gone all the way.
Also get eye aches, they suck so much. Eye throbs and feels like it's made of blood.
I think it's climatic pressure, it only happens at the beginning of summer.

If it IS a Migraine, well... prescription level drugs are pretty much the only cure.

But Ibuprofen is the best over-the-counter thing to take for any headache, be it migraine or what have you, since headaches usually mean there is some swelling somewhere, and that the Ibu helps lessen that.

Also, I have migraines and I take various things for it, from Tylenol 3's to prescription level Ibu, to this super awesome tiny melt in your mouth pill that seems to find a Migraine and wipe it from the face of the earth, much like a fat kid annihilates a sandwich after not eating for 5hrs.

Caffiene is addictive. If I don't get caffiene in some form, by 2 or 3 o'clock I have a stonker of a headache, only allieviated by a cup of tea.

Which actually isn't that great for me, actual comedown from a substance.

A good quick relief remedy is to give yourself a brain freeze through any means possible. It basically like fighting fire with fire but it will help for a short time if nothing else. All you need is ice cream :)

It's the caffeine in the pills you take. Trust me, I get this as well. In the off chance I forget to take mine and a headache ensues, I usually take BC powder with a 20 oz. Mountain Dew. It usually corrects in less than an hour.

I'm no medical provider, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that your short term solution is to consume caffeine, your medium term solution is to gradually wean yourself off supplements (This product has not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to cure, treat, or diagnose any disease), and your long term solution is to institute healthy life style changes (in your diet, fitness, and sleeping habits) that allow you to function without said supplements.

    But I'm not a professional.

I haven't had a major headache since childhood, but when I have had headaches, I sometimes would take a shower and put the nozzle on massage. So if you have one of those massage-pulsing shower heads, I'd try that aiming for the back of your neck. Not hot, not cold, just nice warm water and the massage setting works great.

    What is BC powder?

Yea, I do need to either wean completely off or start cycling, because last night was awful... like literally hell-on-earth awful.

Nice, I actually do have that on my shower head and it feels really good, but I forget about it!

I get really bad migrains some times. I can't take Asprin due to stomach problems. I do wear sunglass( very dark ones). I eat some dark choc. and take Tylenol migrain strenght and drink either coffee or soda. A dark room is very helpful and a cold rag on your face might help.

Yea, as crazy as it sounds, even though it's a ton better after taking my pills, I still have a headache and neck ache today... it's crazy just how bad this is...

And the massaging show on the back of my neck felt AMAZING.

It's powdered aspirin and caffeine. And it works like nothing else.
