    I don't mind a slightly dark,medium light picture.

But the Two I saw this month were so dark. I had to turn on all my room lights just to see what was going on.

The last Harry potter movie was so dark. I had trouble making out the scenes movements.

A movie called,I am number Four. Chose to have really dark, hardly any light scenes. in all those epic chase or fight scenes. not being able to see what was going on was really a unpleasant experience.

Before anyone makes jokes about my eye sight. I have perfect 20/20 eye sight. I recently got my eyes tested when I had to re-new my DMV drivers liscense. I scored a perfect 20/20 vision score.

Being 20/20 has nothing to do with how well you see in the dark.

Personally, I was wondering more about how dark your screen is. Sounds like it's either set up wrong, or it's dieing a slow and horrible death.

My television is really old. It's got to be at least 12 years old. It does show those green lines in the screen every now & then.

Maybe brighten your tv if it can do it. It sounds like it not hd. Maybe you need a new tv.

Sounds like an old telly issue. That said, I watched the final Harry Potter movie on my nine year old 14" bedroom telly and it was perfectly clear enough for me, but then my old telly is built like a tank and will probably last until long after humans have vanished from the planet. :p

Definitely try and give your brightness setting a tweak.

However, if we're going to talk about movies that were done too dark, I'd offer 'Aliens vs Predator: Requiem' as a candidate. Thankfully it was a shitty movie anyway so I'm unlikely to ever cast my eyes upon it's murky showing ever again.

no its not a telly issue
there are episodes of Prime that are really dark a lot and my pet peeve with them are that glares and refelctions are more noticable and visable on the screen.

Yep, on older TV's I usually find the brightness mode is set to the middle or 50% setting..and I like it better set to the lighter end, almost 80-90% on one older TV of mine. Everything looks so much better when I did that..oh and I changed the sharpness setting too.

I've watched I am no. 4 and it didn't seem like the most dark of films... like AVP:Requiem...must agree, that sucker was indeed filmed in the dark. :lol
