Does anybody know of a line of transforming toys that turn into realistic vehicles other than transformers? Ive been looking for one but I can't find any.

Why bother? Alternators/Binaltech are lines that can't be beat imo. Though, I'm EXTREMELY biased when it comes to these :p

Between HasTak and the third parties, are you not finding enough transforming robot toys to buy?

Or are you looking for a lower cost alternative?

The Power Rangers RPM line had 2 figures that turned into Toyota cars (a Prius and a Camry). Tiger Zord and Eagle Zord they were called.

Roadbots are as close as you're going to get for most of the models. Although Alternators are perfectly in scale, and are much more sturdy. I have the Toyota FJ Cruiser Roadbot, and while I love him, he's got his flaws.

I totally forgot about the RPM Toyotas. I may have to find one of those off Ebay.

Road Bots seem a bit too flimsy to me....think shitty third party plastics. I got the yellow Countach to custom into MP Sunstreaker and some of it was horrendous.

What was that new Bandai (?) line based on a video game?

It has a bunch of licensed Japanese vehicles.

There's a TON of Japanese transforming toys line that do this. Power Rangers have done it, and so did a lot of the Machine Robo stuff. There's a ton of others that I can't recall right now, but I'm sure you'll dig 'em up if you look hard.

yeah... while i like the fact happywell started their own brand/molds (they 'borrowed' some of the binaltech transformations but we'll let that go) instead of just bootlegging old braves toys, roadbots don't come anywhere close to has/tak products in engineering and aesthetics, may be buy one for novelty, but after that you probably wont buy another one ever again.

    oh forgot to mention macross.

I have a few roadbots. They range on excellent to crap, coincidentally corresponding directly to size, large to small (small being crap).

I looked at some roadbots, and I was surprised. Those toys look really nice, especially the motorcycle ones.
