I had an idea a while back to take a 1/60 or 1/35 scale F-22 Raptor and butcher and bash it to make an awesome Screamer.

I'd just like everyones info or ideas

well, I just watched the movie again, and I noticed that hes got a lot more light grey on him than the sandy/tan color that the actual toy has, so thats a small start.

I wanna make him look more closer to Game version, cuz the game ver. is a dark blueish-grey. I'm hoping to use Timshinn's method of model/bionicle/exo force stuff

if you're looking for modelkits you'd be looking for 1:72, 1:48 and 1:32 scales as they are most commonly used for aircraft.

Yeah. They're not as common as F-15 models (from what I can see anyways), but they are out there.

    1:48 Raptor 2

The 1:72 scale kits should get you a Starscream that's maybe 10-12 inches tall, I'd guess. My 1:72 scale Powerglide is 10 inches tall. That's really not all that different in terms of size compared to the Voyager class toy Starscream, which is about 8 inches tall.

The 1:48 scale kit is going to get you a pretty big bot and will have more parts for detailing. Although I liked working with the 1:72 scale kits, the 1:48 kit has alot more going on in terms of detail and complexity. Also, hiding the Lego parts might end up being easier on the larger kit. You might even have enough room to hide the extra parts and make the thing transform. But or course if you're going for a movie accurate figure, transforming is probably out. I'm working on some 1:48 scale G1 Seekers myself.

Whatever you decide, have fun and keep us updated.

Idk which scale to go with on this, but I cant wait to see how this all comes out. Id love to be able to bash a raptor kit, but I dont have tose kind of skills as of yet. Hope everything works for you.

Beware not getting a YF-22 which is the prototype, it isn't like the final F-22 in terms of appearance.

    You got any progress pics?

Michaels had a pretty big sale last week, I almost grabbed a few model kits for something like this, wish I had now.

No. Busy working on my Soundwave project at the moment. Detailing the Stage 2 under structure before I move onto the shell and head.

I have a few other things I started a while back and I'm trying to decide what to work on once Sounwave's complete. Might pick up on one of the Seekers. Not sure yet.

Well this one was a long time coming. :p

I got a 1:48 scale raptor and stocked up on any and all robotic lego bits and as many movie pics as possible.

As for costruction i have a rough frame laid out for size, movement and weight purposes. The damn chicken legs have given me a hard time, they don't really hold the weight properly and the frame tends to just keel over...which isn't makin much since to me, the legs've caused me to temporarily stop until I can get it figured out.

That's where i'm at currently...been a long time coming lol
