World's Biggest Machine
Yeah Ive seen that thing several times
Thats pretty cool. I wonder if it Transforms?
As I recall, in Ace Combat 5, the solo spy mission, you fly right past one.
^I just played that a few days ago, I don't remember seeing it. There are "crawlers" in some missions that might look like that but I tend to blow them up before I get a good look at them.
That's what Metroplex and that one minicon were both based on. The minicon looks more accurate.
Thats kinda dumb. I'm sure its usefull for mining and what not, but moving that thing from location to location sounds like its way more trouble than its worth.
Wow... seeing that machine (especially the pics with the tiny bulldozer it "ate") ALMOST manages to make Cybertron Metroplex's alt mode cool.
They usaully built on the spot, and in general don't travel very far. They're used to excavate rather large areas of land.
Cool.. saw these on Modern Marvels on the history channel
This is the real Metroplex:
Has anyone seen that dancing Soundwave or the transforming Citroen?
Finally, more people have realised, Cybertron Metroplex has an Alt Mode, rather than all the people that blindly insist, 'M3tropl3x 1s teh suk, he h4s n0 Alt m0d3'
I want one for road rage.
Yeah, the machine in and of itself is impressive- its just the bit in the article about it moving between locations, and having to remove power lines and such for it pass through that just sounds ridiculous. I'd think something that size would demolish any roadways (or any other terrain) that it passed over- would make more sense to just have it built on site.
that thing is so awesome...
it looks to have drank the spark of Landmine!
What an awesome piece of machinery.
Oh, I always knew he was supposed to be a strip-miner...
However, his altmode STILL sucks.
The arrangement of his limbs into his "alt" configuration leaves him looking almost nothing like a real trenching machine. More than anything, he still looks like a big robot on his hands and knees, retching into a ditch. The only aspect that establishes his resemblance to a real strip-miner is the digger arm and the digging wheel... which aren't even part of the robot! It's just his weapon, stuck onto the top of his "alt" mode.
I like the robot mode quite a bit, but they should have given him a more complex and convincing transformation.
