Sigh...there are actually still people out there that want the Transformers to look that that on the silver screen? A blocky bunch of non-functional parts? Thank goodness fanboys didn't get to script/block/design anything on this movie.

On a side note, what's the over-under on that commenter being related somehow to Hedgehog?

Sigh...there are actually still people out there that take every chance they get to complain about anyone who likes anything remotely looking like or related to G1 just because they get off on it?

Thank goodness fanboys are around and post enough to make me not lose hope on the whole transformers universe

    j/k ;)

But really, can you imagine if the live action movie TF's looked like that? Not exactly functional. I wanted more G1 influenced color schemes and vehicle modes, but I can't complain about the bot modes in Bay's film, they looked entirely functional.

I think his post was in reference to a comment on the actual site with the picture, too.

    Predictable.

I'm just glad that Bay & Co. had enough sense to ignore the Hedgehogs of the world and make a movie that--UNLIKE what a fanboy movie would do--actually gives Transformers a chance to live on well into the future.

A fanboy-oriented movie would tank like Lindsay Lohan in the stockroom of a pharmacy (sort of like the '86 movie did) and then we'd never see another Transformers movie again.

Ok I thought the j/k ;)  was good enough to show that my entire post was a joke - I thought the bay transformers looked fantastic - although some of the fight scenes were hard to follow. Velcrohead I was just trying to give you a hrad time since I have never read a post of yours that doesnt at some point find a way to throw in a G1 jab. Sorry if you all thought I seriously wanted block toys in a 2000 movie

(I am interested in what your definition of tanking is in relation to the 86 movie...longevity, box office reciepts, something else??)

Ah, gotcha... forgive me, as it's been a long week...

As for the definition of tanking: in terms of longevity, it has lasted 20-some-odd years, but only among fans. (You're not likely to see it aired on any cable station.) In terms of box office receipts, it's no secret that Transformers '86 wasn't a big earner.

LOL! It wants a hug. It's like a combination of G1 AND Movie designs.

Note to self, never mix G1 and Movie. :lol  Nah, seriously, it's cool.
