I just saw on the news that the Beatles music is going to be re-released and digitally remastered for better sound, along with the Beatles being available on iTunes!!! I can't wait. Plus if anyone has a link please share.
As a Beatles fan, this is awesome news. However I doubt I'm going to be spending the money to buy all the albums again, remastered or not.
I read an article about that a couple weeks of ago in USA Today or some other newspaper. Pretty cool. I might have to pick up these remastered albums. I've listened to some of The Beatles music while I was in school, and liked what I heard.
Pretty much this. I have all the albums, but I don't think that I'm gonna double-dip for slightly better sound. Though I may buy Abbey Road again.
Personally I haven't got any Beatles albums at all, so these are a definite prospect for me. I'll have to see what albums my wife has though before I get any. Having said that I doubt these will sell as well as Michael Jacksons albums did when he died, which is ironic seeing as MJ's estate own these albums too.
I have them but come on, it's remastered how are you not pumped? I love the new Beatlesmania I have been waiting for this day to come since 6th grade. I've gotten my football team hooked on the music.
Blah. I already have several original Beatles vinyls; I don't need a set of "remastered" verions. Call me when they do a remastered Kraftwerk box set.
Yeah they actually do sound a lot better now, very big difference. They actually put some effort into this remaster. I bought all the CDs the first time around many years ago, I'm borrowing my friends remaster set right now.
I am very stoked about these and have ordered the box set (stereo version). Although purists would certainly cry sacrilege and blasphemy, I'd still like to see a true remix of the entire catalog at some point. Go back to the master tapes and redo everything start to finish with modern tech at their disposal. To have any legitimacy, it's got to be done while at least one of them is still alive to oversee, preferrably McCartney.
Looking forward to seeing how these sound compared to the cds I already have. Just put rips of all the good stuff onto my Walkman and it still sounds excellent.
The big difference you are going to notice is on the high end(highs), especially on the later material. The horns and strings sound more clear and crisp, more pronounced. There's just more clarity there. You'll know what I mean when you hear it. After listening to the old CDs for 2 decades like myself, you'll notice the difference right away.
Just got Let it Be from Barnes and Noble. Oh. My. Jesus. It sounds so beautiful, I can't even describe the wonder that is the remastered version of "The Long and Winding Road" Just pure beauty.
