It stings! Especially when you pay significantly more for them.

What figs have you sold off only to re-purchase them and why?

i didn't sell, i gave away my collection.
then i got back in and had to rebuy, as i had to keep up with the newer releases.

"sting" is rather feathery language for what it felt like to me.
i compare it falling into a punji-stake pit while listening to Polka music at the wrong speed.

I sold an Energon Omega Supreme many years ago, but recently reacquired it earlier this year. Thankfully, I didn't sell my Sentinel :)

I undersold my Henkei Gentei Crystal Convoy and had to replace it at $100 more. This taught me a valuable lesson not to sell things so quickly. I will look up the market price before I sell form now on, unless I am selling it to someone I have good relations with.

I sold off Cybertron Landmine not realizing he made a perfect stand-in for Scoop, but buying him back wasn't too bad. The worst sting was/is selling Gentei Wildrider for $100 less than what he was worth at the time because I needed the cash quick. Now with the Dark Scythe kit coming out, he's moved way back on the get-back list.

    - Classics Prime
    - Classics Rodimus
    - RID Megatron
    - Beast Wars Transmetal 2 Megatron
    - G2 Megatron (the big green tank)
    - G1 Devastator
    - G1/Encore Omega Supreme
    - G1/Encore Metroplex...

...and I'm still thinking of selling off my encore Metroplex again! ARGH

I sold off the oldies because I was getting out of TFs at the time (G1/2), or lost interest in the figures (BW, RID). Bought them all back in recent years. For the Classics, I replaced them with the Henkei versions, but decided I like the Classics version of Prime to be in truck mode to tow the G3 trailer & DIA Commander armor, and Rodimus for the upcoming Protector armor (the Henkei ones represent Prime & Hot Rod displayed in bot mode)

I've brought and resold more sets of Classics/Henkei than I want to remember. However, the lot I'm currently selling really are it - it's G1 only for me from now on!!

I got an MISB "Legacy of Bumblebee" 3-pack online before, the metal parts were rusted. I sold the item at a much lower price just to get rid of it (told the buyer the about the metal parts.).

I got another one MISB too from a friend who was streamlining his collection, the metal parts are fine, shiny.

I *GAVE* RoTF Bruticus to a friend, along with Classics Devastator for Christmas.

Then I saw the pictures of FP Bruticus, and I had to buy him back. Let me say this: "OUCH". It wasn't as bad as it could have been, but I got him back.

I had almost complete collections of BW, BM, Armada & Energon. I recently picked up a good lot of Armada toys for cheap, and have been getting others here & there at various prices. While it kind of sucks to pay for something I already once had and regret having sold, being reunited with something like say, Armada Megatron makes me so happy I couldn't care about the $20. For you guys collecting G1 and having sold such & such a figure for $75 and then spending $150 to replace it I could see how it would certainly sting.

The only thing that "stung" to buy back, was a complete G1 Overlord, I sold him off when thought I didn't want to collect anymore, and just recently decided to bite the bullet and buy him back. Probably ended up paying $100 more than I sold him for

Other than that, the only other fig I can think of that I sold only to buy again was Big Convoy, and that wasn't bad, because I think I actually got him for cheaper the second time around.
