I've had this boy under wraps for a few months now, because I just didn't think that he was finished yet. I thought that this was a good way to promote the SECTOR70.com Megatron Challenge though, so here he is. He's not in the contest since contestants were limited to one entry each and they had to be anonymous, and since I've already shown this to a few people in private, I thought that it wasn't in the spirit of fairness to enter him.

Yes, he is fully transformable. I'll post gun mode and WIPs soon.

"I've would have waited an ETERNITY for THIS !"

Brilliant mod to my favourite Megatron ever ! This is pure Love, beating MP Megatron silly.

At first, seeing the crotch I assumed he was NOT transformable, but then I reread your post and I see he actually IS. I'm looking at my G1 Megatron here on my desk waiting anxiously for more pics.

As many know I have a real love/hate relationship with this mold....and this just moved my meter back towards the "love" side.

Amazing what you've done here, he looks like a real threat (in a G1 Microchange kind of way) rather than a gangly floppy mess.

    Just wonderful!

Megs was my first TF as a kid. I still am shocked my parents bought me a toy that transforms into a handgun. Loved the figure though, still got him too. You did a great job on this. he's awesome.

Great job - almost un-recognizable as a modded original figure!

This is pretty awesome. My mind boggles a little bit at the subtlety and complexity of the modding here.

One minor point I would raise... I find the chromey silver on his face to be a bit too uniform, and you lose the details in the face looking at it. Maybe if it were drybrushed or weathered to show the forms better. Or maybe even just a flat metallic would bring it out. It's the only thing that feels distracting in an otherwise fantastic piece.

Man that seriously rocks it out of the park! Great work on this one! I would love to own a figure just like that. If more G1's were like this my G1 shelf would definitely be more full.

Now this is a mini-Masterpiece! Excellent work, Dave! The added articulation and mods flow seamlessly. And I love those scratchbuilt hands!

Cutting that chunk of his crotch and moving to his back is brilliant.
