Is ther any mention of "who" the thin, made of marbles, 'con is?
Ya know the one Ravage regurgitates down the chimney? As they escape you can see they are still two seperate bots.

I'm hoping he's a throwback to one of the original series.

    He's called Reedman.

As far as I know, he's a completely new addition to the mythos.

Interestingly, way back before the first movie was released and people were speculating wildly about every facet of the film in terms of adapting existing TF mythos and technolgy to a real-world setting, I suggested on the official TF movie board that perhaps Soundwave's minions were made up of 'Minion Blocks', similar to the Replicator parts in Stargate, and he'd hold a stack of them in his chest and release them to form either Ravage, Laserbeak, Rumble, or whichever minion he needed. And if he wanted more than one minion out at the same time then the blocks would form smaller versions of them since he only carried a certain number of the blocks in his chest. It also meant that they could form small alt modes or be larger robots without mass-shifting, just the addition or subtraction of how many blocks they were composed of.
Okay, it's not exactly the same thing as was seen in the film (I like my idea far more :D  ), but Reedman made me immediately think of my old idea.

    Thanks for the info!

Reedman isn't very tough sounding unless... You think of it from the spooky psychodelic like batmans scarecrow. But otherwise I hoped for a cooler name, slice, razor shard, scrape, knife-blade, ya know?

I do like the microcons idea though

They should've named him PartsFormer as a nod to the fan term for certain figures. :)

I was hoping for a cooler name, but the character certainly is badass.

i'd assumed he was a knowing, stylised nod to the 'flat' 2d look of the old g1 cassettes - they'd look cool from one angle, and not so hot from another.

    Absolutely... That's excellent!

But for the record, I believe the name Reedman is more of a throwaway "this way all the people involved with making the movie know who is being discussed" name a la Wheelbot (Demolisher).

The Reedman. Pretty cool, they were going to call him Razorman or something like that.

Could have just called him Buzzsaw... seen as the way he cuts through things and is razor sharp.

    OverKill works too I guess.

Yeah, as a matter of fact they do.  Yes, it's Wikia, I know: "Can't be trusted!". But, seeing as how Hasbro, the official movie site, and practically any Transformers toy site would not have any information about the character, I figured that the next best choice would be a site that has lengthy articles about the characters would suffice. Just trying to help out a fellow fan with questions. :D

    no, thats not the point.

    the proper site is tfwiki.net

the wikia site was abandoned because wikia sucks, and a new group has taken over everything the tfwiki.net people made at the original wikia location. it's essentially a stolen site, that is horribly updated, and missing thousands of pages that tfwiki.net has.

My apologies, Nevermore.  I didn't understand that's what you were referring to. :)

And thank you, Valkysas for explaining it to me. I actually had no idea that the "Wikia" site was considered 'sucky' by fans/was replaced with the "Wiki" site. ... All makes sense now.

:dunce  (The dunce is referring to me, not you guys...)

Sorry and thank you, once again.
