Some harsh friggin' words in here...heh... But I liked his death cause it was a better death than most of the other 'Cons ever got in both movies. It was quick, furious, and well done in a money shot. I do wish Ravage would have injured Bumblebee more, such as blow out his knees or hips. I personally wished Ravage would have survived, but I have a feeling Ravage is just a drone that Soundwave has many of and we'll see multiple "animal minions" from Soundwave in the next movie, this includes at least one more Ravage.
Okay, so Frenzy and Ravage are down. We still have Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Ratbat, Rumble, SLugfest, Overkill, Spacecase, etc. to go.
Wifey and I cried for Ravage, and others who were watching the film looked at us funny. Lame-o-jerks.
Bringing Ravage back for the third movie can be easy. As much as people will probaby hate the idea, perhaps Ravage isn't a one-of-a-kind robot in the movie universe. Given that he was launched from Soundwave, perhaps he has multiple "Ravages". One Ravage fails, send another Ravage.
Got the most cheers when I went to go see it. Truly awesome scene! My favorite scene is Prime landing on the ground and transforming. I got all excited, but I didn't feel the crowd react at all.
Yup, more cloning. But I think it would be nice if Soundwave sent Lazerbeak to retrieve the remains, and used his own energon store to repair him.
To be frank, BB doesn't kill him by pulling his tail - he grabs his tail, and with his other hand, simply "brushes aside" all the other parts of Ravage, from tail to head. My biggest gripe with Ravage was - he was freakin' too small. When he jumps out of Rampage, you can see him next to Sam's parents, he's about the size of a regular black panther (not even a lion) - a human is taller then Ravage on all 4 legs. Ravage should have been as large as a smaller Autobot, Arcee or the twins for example. And yeah, his death was overly violent, when he died I felt really sad for a moment. But pretty much all the Cons got slaughtered - Rampage by BB, Mixmaster tries to defend himself in vain when Jetfire beheads him, Demolishor, the Fallen, etc... I think this movie has the same effect on me then many SW and Indiana JOnes movies, the good guys are so brutal and kill the enemy by the dozen that you start to feel rooting for the bad guys in your heart. Offtopic, but althought I have gone through it with pause-play, I cannot see how Rampage gets killed. BB rips his arms off, and he falls to the ground with his neck and head totally blown apart. It almost seems like a scene is missing where BB shoots him in the head. Oh and BTW, David Willis of Shortpacked felt the same way about Ravage as you and me, Vektsilver:
Ravage isn't an organic earth creature. Totally different body structure built on metal, not bone. Upon pulling on the tail, the metal is going to fail at its weakest point at which force is being applied. If it's along the spine, the whole spine is going to come out.
Well Frenzy survived having his head chopped off... We're clearly meant to assume Ravage is dead, but that doesn't mean the door isn't open for the writers to decide "Whoops! He survived!" if they still want to use him later on.
i think in the whole movie, only soundwave and ravage were able to accomplish their missions. r.i.p. ravage, you were the 2nd most useful 'con in this movie, at least you died with dignity.
As much as I loved Ravage (he reminded me of my own little troublemaking Cats, mannerisms-wise anyway), he's dead a doornail and he recieved a most death at the hands of Bumblebee and proved to be a useful discipling tool as well. Saying he's not dead is like saying Jazz isn't dead because Megatron pulled him apart and didn't rip his Spark out, or even Bonecrusher because he got his head lobbed off and didn't get his spark sliced out by Optimus Prime.
The reason we know Jazz is dead is because: 1) Ratchet said he couldn't be salvaged; 2) He didn't come back for the next movie, and; 3) It would cheapen his sacrifice to bring him back, and the writers wouldn't want to do that. Otherwise, we could happily assume Jazz was A-OK. Which of these is true for Ravage so far? None yet, so we don't know. I think we're meant to assume he's dead, but his return wouldn't have near as many obstacles.
