In the light of DOTM Why does Laserbeak talk and Ravage just growls.? Would you love good old Ravage talked in Revenge of the fallen or would it be stupid to fit in both type of animals into Mr BAY World that could talk,?
Ravage is Soundwave's lap dog [or rather, cat], while Laserbeak is his shoulder-parrot [and, y'know, parrots speak]. But I don't think there was anything wrong with Ravage not speaking, it could go either ways, if he spoke, he should have a growling voice.
I actually would have preferred it if Laserbeak didn't talk either. Never been a fan of animal-bots who speak unless the animal mode is their alt mode ala Predacons, Dinobots, etc. And I just prefer Soundwave's "pet" minions to be silent but deadly & efficient.
But for Ravage there wasn't any talking parts apart from jumping on bee that would be cool if he said i will rip you to shreads and kill you...........
Because Ravage talking wasn't necessary at all. If Laserbeak didn't talk, he would be a lot worse because of all the interactions he had to have. All Ravage did was get some shard, go underwater, and then didn't show up again for the rest of the movie until BB killed him.
All I want is consistency with the beast-formers. I loved how Laserbeak talked but I wished, somewhat, that he would be like the other beast-formers and doesnt talk but says things through Soundwave. Like have him say things but it was actually Soundwave talking trough him like a communicator. It would add more character to Soundwave but it would also take away character from Laserbeak so it's 50/50 in what I would have liked.
I liked that Laserbeak was the one beastbot who was smart enough to talk. I remember somewhere reading that the writer's said Scorponok and Ravage didn't talk because the writer's felt it would seem weird hearing voices with them, especially Scorponok's british accent. I could have sworn I read that (or rather, something very similar) on the TFwiki but I could be wrong and have seen it somewhere else... EDIT- Yep, it was on TFWiki
Laserbeak reminded me of a demented Sesame Street character. For over 2 hours, I was half expecting that motherfucker to tell me the Letter of the Day.
