Toy Fair is still technically going on, but the big news is out and the figures have been shown... So, overall, on a scale from 1-9 (gotta have the middle ground), how would you rate what we got from Toy Fair 2009? P.S. can you tell I'm a researcher? Oh yeah, Likert scales on twf2005!

I like the toys except the combiner Devastator, and Soundwave... isn't soundwave just a recolor of Vector Prime from the Cybertron series??

No, Soundwave is a new mold.

I liked toyfair. I'm one of the few who think devs is cool, and overall, it was okay. Could have been better though. I don't like how much hasbro is focusing on the side lines instead of the main line, but overall, I voted eccastic

It wasnt bad, the ROTF stuff wasnt as great as I hoped (I'll still get the mainline figures, apart from Devastator) but the little animated stuff we saw was good enough for me. Never before have I been so excited for a repaint like I am with Electrostatic Sound(blaster)wave.

Was a bit 'meh' at the ROTF stuff. Aside from the Devy disappointment, it seems Hasbro are pushing those RPM things in a big way, with an under-emphasis on mainline TFs.

mostly dissapointed, the animated were sweet, and i like a couple of the deluxe rotf molds, but not enough to buy them, devs was the one i wanted, and it was a let-down

The only Highlights were Animated Arcee. Hasbro did a Extraordinarily Fantastic Job of Screwing up what could have been great Toys This Year.

    Especially in "Vehicle Mode"

I guess the "Vehicle Mode" threw me off.... I just pray Soundwave scans something better then a satellite!!

thanks for voting all and keep the votes coming in! I've got a similar poll up at hisstank.com, and I'd love to have enough votes so I can run some stats and see how we average out and how Joe fans' responses compare to TF fans' responses!

What I did like I liked a lot, but there wasn't a whole lot there as far as mainline stuff goes. Leader Prime is awesome, I can't wait for the preview figs, and Demolisher is great.

I'm slightly disappointed because they held back on all the Megatron figures. I wanted to see those more than anything else.

Devastator knocked it down a couple of notches for me. However the ROTF deluxes look rather nice.

I voted "slightly ecstatic." Nothing to do with Transformers, though, as the only thing I saw that I'm really excited for is Animated Arcee.

No, what's got me pumped is the new Lego Space Police kits. I'm a huge Space Police fan from back in the day and these new kits look pretty damn amazing. I can't wait to get SP3's Galactic Enforcer (see, Hasbro, that is how you do an awesome $100 toy) and set it next to SP1's Mission Commander and SP2's Galactic Mediator.

So yeah, I'm pretty pumped - just not for anything Transformers-related.

I guess part of the problem for me and Toy Fair was my disappointment was made even deeper by there being stuff I found so cool in other toy lines.

Sort of well I'm not too happy with that becomes total disappointment then when I end up seeing something like the Cobra 7 pack of classic figures that totally kicks butt. If it had just been Transformers stuff and not coming off as movie or nothing then I think my attitude wouldn't have been as harsh. Not happy mind you, but not as harsh.
