    Character designs: 8

    Story: 2

    Sound effects: 10

Coherence: 4 (had more to do with the awful story and directing)

    Production: 9

    Direction: 2

    Duration: 8

My conclusion: I pretty much got what I expected: Beautiful special effects with a storyline I had to revert into a preschool-like mental state to enjoy coupled with the abilities of a director who only has the ability to make pretty explosions. I sound like I hate it...I don't. It is what it is and I went to see it in the theater four times in the first week. It has some very high points and some very low points. No movie will be perfect.

    Sound effects: 9

    Coherence: 5

    Production: 9

Conclusion: I was not disappointed in the slightest. My only issues were how late Starscream was introduced, seeing as how he coordinated their activities on earth and was their 2nd in command during Megatron's absence, and the lack of interaction among the Decepticons.

I would appreciate to know in advance what the purpose of my rating be used for.

I share the same sentiment with grimlock13 in that, just because I rate something low doesn't mean I can't like something. its like junk food. you know its bad for you but you can still enjoy it.

I'm just saying all this preemptively because I'm sick of ppl talking bad about the movie after how well its done. its been great toy wise and it certainly given the fandom a boost. complaining after the fact may still be valid/ relevant but just smack of sour grape.

I see no reason to be suspicious about the purpose of this rating, so here's it for me:

    Character designs- 10

    Story- 8

    Sound effects- 10

    Coherence- 9

    Production- 10

    Direction- 9

    Duration- 10

I think it was an awesome movie, not the best movie ever, but great and fun. The point of the movie was to go and see robots beat the crap out of eachother and blow everything up and enjoy it. It was very entertaining and rocked.

    Coherence- 2
    Production- 1
    Direction- 1
    Duration- ....5

I guess. Very disappointed with the movie.

    -Story: 1

    -Sound effects: 10

    -Coherence: 0

    -Production: 8

    -Direction: 3

    -Duration: 8

Conclusion: The worst part of this movie was the plot or lack thereof. Too many story lines and a disjointed, rambling movie along with the shaky camera made this movie horrible to me. F+

My conclusion: Well, I got basically what I thought it would be and that's a summer popcorn action flick. I didn't walk in expecting Shakespeare and nor should anyone because Transformers has never been that. The movie had great effects and a lot of hard work obviously went into it, but the story seemed lacking in many ways and the disjointed plots were a mess... but that's a summer action flick for you.

-Character designs: 8 would have like to have seen more than GM
-Story: 6 if you want story, read a book
-Sound effects: 10 spot on for a Bay movie
-Coherence: 4 again, read a book
    -Production: 8
-Direction: 8 Bay is one of those you shouldn't try comparing to others
-Duration: 9 not a problem with length

I liked the movie. For those upset with the camera shake, try 28 Days/Weeks later. Honestly, if you want an involved story, read a book, you know those weird looking things with all the words in them.

Wow... Now I can tell the reason that made me open this topic... I thought most people loved the movie simply because of the theme involved... More or less like: "The movie ROCK because is about TF man! The rest can explode!!!" - Fortunatelly I was wrong. In fact people CAN see the flaws on it and this is good because we can make our construtive criticism and got better things in a near future. TF movie wasn´t that bad BUT could be a lot better... (Nothing againt who loved it)

Omega77: Can´t agree with you. You´re saying there are no movies with coherence and good stories... In fact there are so many movies that shows excellent stories and great coherence that I don´t need to list anyone.

glad to see that you understand just because something is not 'good' doesn't mean somebody's stupid and blind for liking it.

these people who insinuate others as misguided for liking something they don't are starting to get on my nerves. grr.

    Character designs: 6
Story: 4 (I didn't pay for a freaking teen soap opera guest starring the Transformers)
Sound effects: 7 (Love the transformation sounds)
Coherance: 3 (Wait, so Jazz died? When? And who the heck is Jazz?)
    Production: 8
    Direction: 5 (I feel dizzy)
    Duration: 7 (no problem)

Conclusion: Well, it was alright. Fun, but too little Transformers.

Sure... At the end is all about personal taste. And of course... RESPECT is the main issue in this kind of discussion... If I don´t like something is with me... Doesn´t means even for a nanoclick that people who like are dumbs or fools... The same for opposite situation.

Yeah, it's always seemed that way (to me at least). I mean, you may get one or two nutters that are 'ZOMG TF ROXZ!', but I think most of us are capable of expressing are likes and dislikes about the movie objectively.

And, also, I agree with KA... the movie is like a guilty pleasure. It's like the junkfood that you know you shouldn't eat, but you do anyways because it tastes so darned good.

Have to agree with you on that. I think a lot of recent movies have done a significant job of having a coherent plot along with a good story that a defence for that doesn't have to be made. I like mindless action flicks as much as the next, but not all of them have to be (or are) mindless.

I mean, look at LotR... that movie is very coherent and has a good story (mind you it wasn't written by the director or writer, but they had to make it look good on the screen) and is epic. I'd love to see a Transformers movie done up like this... something on an epic scale with an epic story (well, the TF movie had/has potential to be an epic story, but I feel that they missed the ball on it somewhere... probably all the disjointed storylines that magically tie into each other at the end...).

Well, I know after that last bit I sound like I hate the movie, but I really don't. I just recognize that it has some weaknesses compared to other kinds of movies I like.
