others have already pointed it out, but Rescue Bots could have also been the inspiration for the 'Island' being mentioned... and as for being launched into space, it happened in G1 first...why can't it be a reference to that?

How is that "poking fun"? It's just simple other media referencing.

It was more of a Fan Nod than poking fun, same goes for Ratchet saying "Primes are made, not born" in direct contrast to Jetfire in ROTF "Primes are born, not made."

Could also be a reference to Dinobot Island.

Who knows how long ago these scripts were written, they could pre-date DotM.

I don't see it as a specific reference to Bayverse or otherwise.

But if they leave i'll be so pissed.

Yeah, I kind of feel the same. But I can kind of see how it might be...Maybe.

I've noticed several things that appear to be directly poking at Bay's movies. I can't help but feel like the TFP writers are saying, "See! This is how you do it!"

Which is funny considering the head writers for the first two films are Prime's executive producers...

But yeah, I immediately thought of Diego Garcia and the Xanthium at that line, intentional or not.

yeah me too. But you also have to remember that a lot of what those two guys wrote for the first 2 movies was changed and or bay went and added stupid corny stuff that messed up what may have been good plot points they wrote. I really dont blame them for leaving after ROTF.

It could show that they're trying to distance themselves from their work on Bay's films.

Yeah. I was listening to the commentary on RotF, and during the kitchen scene they even said that they wouldn't have added that in there, but Bay insisted. . . Not to mention a lot of the crass humor like Simmons' extreme butt close-up and Devastator's wrecking balls were added in on the fly. I wouldn't blame them for wanting to distance themselves.

So what are some other things? Agent Fowler's suggestion to use a ton of explosives to deal with Unicron? Perhaps a little knock against the explosive-heavy films?

That already crosss into the "hunting ghosts" territory, I think [i.e seeing things where there are none].

And again, is more of a Fan Nod than a knock on the movies.

This. It's not really poking fun. Now, that humourous "Making Of..."-video with Orci and Kurtzman, that was 'poking fun'.

    And this.

Same here. Those were the first things that came to mind.
