I'm trying to make a list of the rarest figures from each TF line. Items that didnt make it to full production (energon BTR, G2 ATB Megatron, G2 stunticons) do not count. If people could help me compile it, that'd be awesome.

This is what I have so far:

    Alternators -
    Swerve, Camshaft, Nemesis Prime, Decepticharge

    Re-issues -
    Optimus Prime, Rodimus Major, Astrotrain

    Cybertron -
    Wingsaber

    Energon -
    Beachcomber, Ultra Magnus, Grimlock/Swoop,

    Armada -
    Nemesis Prime, Skywarp

    Universe -
    Nemesis Prime, Swerve

    Robots in Disguise -
    Bruticus

    Beast Machines -
Cycle Drone, Tank Drone, Hammerstrike, Night Viper

    Beast Wars -
    Grimlock, Transmetal 2 Blackarachnia

    Generation 2 -
Grey Dinobots, Green Snarl, Red Slag

    Generation 1 -
Red Bumblebee, Yellow Cliffjumper, "Bumper", Bludgeon, Dreadwing, Slog, Scowl, Icepick, Birdbrain, Wildfly, Bristleback, Combiner Giftsets, Targetmaster Scourge

For G2 I'm pretty sure it would be several of the Dinobot variations....either the grey to color transition or the reversed Slag & Snarl colors :)

For Beast Machines I would maybe throw in Cycle Drone and some of the Battle of the Spark basics such as Hammerstrike and Tank Drone as well. They may not be rare in the sense they go for mega bucks or anything but they can be hard to track down and do not pop up that often.

For Beast Machines I would say Night Viper...for what ever reason he was extreamly hard to find.

    RID- Storm Jet

haha I was just about to edit my post to include this but I had to make sure of the name :lol

Night Viper is definatly one of the hardest to track down in BM too.

for Gen 1 i'd say the Diaclone-based figures that haven't beeen reissued: Wheeljack, Sunstreaker, Mirage... i'm forgetting one i think... and aren't the Pretender Monsters pretty rare... also Bludgeon. EDIT: oh, and Swoop.

we aren't there yet, but i bet some of the last Cybertron figures end up rare.

Also, from Energon, the last wave of combiner limbs were really hard to find, and as i understand it the Grimlock/Swoop 2 pack commands some serious bucks despite it's incredibly high level of suckitude.

I think Grimlock is the most rare BW figure. One per case and one wave only if I remember correctly.

I would also think Astrotrain is the most rare reissue? Just because it's easily available doesn't mean there's many of it.

At this stage in distribution, I predict that the upcoming Hightail and Shadow Recon Mini-Cons will be the rarest Cybertron figures, just because they haven't been found at retail yet and Classics are already available.

Smooth bubble packaging Beast Wars Waspinator and Tarantulas are pretty rare too as I understand it.

I'm not counting package variations, otherwise there'd be 3 versions of target master hot rod on the list.

BW: TM BW Rhinox --- I never saw the original. Ever. Everybody else I saw in great quantities. Also, TM2 Blackarachnia was unbelievably hard to track down.

BM: Never saw the Optimal Optimus repaint. Cycle drone was rare too.

RID: Storm Jet and Bruticus....the gas I wasted on Storm Jet...

Armada: Skywarp was hard to come by, apparently, though I saw many. Nemesis Prime was rare, but I saw a few.

Energon: Beachcomber, for sure. Never saw him besides that one Wal-Mart, that one time before Christmas. Same goes for Grimlock/Swoop.

Cybertron: Actually, Wing Saber may win out in this line. I've seen a couple, and then they just disappeared.

Alt: Never saw a single Camshaft or Swerve.

Was TM Rhinox really rare? he was a shelf-warmer here.

Were energon Quickstrike or Landquake rare? I never bothered with energon repaints, so I didnt keep track.

Hell I actually saw Camshaft at retail :lol  Canada didn't even get Decepticharge or Swerve.

TM Rhinox was never rare. Back in the day for some reason or another there was a frenzy over him and for a brief time fetched upwards of $50-75+ but only briefly.

Funny thing is I actually sold a freebie TM Rhinox I had during this time and got a pretty penny for it too something like $65.

As for Energon, Quickstrike is kinda hard to track down but I wouldn't call him rare, not like Beachcomber by any stretch. As for Landquake I've seen tons of up here.

Megabolt was a Kay-Bee exclusive. I guess if you don't have that store near you, than it would be rare.

As for Rhinox, the repaint was easy to find. I can't have been the only one who struggled to find it.
