Tigatron's caught my eye. The background is nice, it's the picture and fonts that make it look archaic.
It's amazing how much that Tigatron art *doesn't* resemble the character on TV. Those cards are really interesting. Great piece of Beast Wars history!!
It is always neat to see what could have been in a toyline. Even today, some of the concepts (the hologram flow on Dragonfire's artwork) are really neat. I find it rather interesting how many of these start the move back to the mechanical themes of Transformers, a full year (at least) prior to the creation of the Transmetals, particularly Tigatron and the third Dragonfire card (featuring a crosshair and HUD rather than the eye) I especially like Tigatron's, which evokes some of the late G1 aesthetic and a neat overall look, with the circuitry flowing into the organic cells
[EBAYLINK="250073857722"]Beast Wars DRAGONFIRE Concept Board Card Back[/EBAYLINK] That is a beautiful looking concept.
It's funny how small details make so much of a diference. My favorite of the bunch of concept cards is the one with the numbers and grid. Would've loved if that one was used instead. -airfox
I always like seeing things like these concept cards. Certain types of minutia fascinate me. Things like “Evil Predacon” possibly being “The Evil Predacon” are kind of funny to note. Like who in Hasbro said, “Wait, lets call it ‘the evil Predacon’, it makes more sense’”. How does that person relate his or her workday to the family?
