Ironically some of the cheapest figures are rare (because no one wants them), such as Jawbreaker and TM Spittor

JBW Terrorsaur is pretty rare also...mainly because he has the show accurate colors unlike Hasbro's release...last time I seen him on ebay he went for over $100.00 MISB...

those are even pretty easy to get it seems. I think alot of the japanese transmetals are pretty hard to find, also the japanese repint of torca seems like task to track down.

also i just bought the beastwars source books, and I have to tell, I have a renewed respect for those little guys. the only thing bad about the besatwars source books is that don fig didnt do the whole thing, his magmatron kicks so much ass.

Do you mean the gray and black Fox Kids TM Tarantulas? If so, yeah, he and FKTM Cheetor seem to be on the somewhat rarer side for US BW stuff.

BW2nd Ikard w/ TakoTank and Diver w/ Niagara Base are fairly rare, too.

I've got a complete US BW collection and almost complete JBW collection. Just missing black Big Convoy and Gigastorm. Tracking some down took some time on Ebay. A couple are white Lio Junior and and black Lio Junior from the JBW line that came packaged with puzzles. Was able to get these at a reasonable low price. See them rarely on Ebay. Also the eggbots and dark eggbots from JBW, which I also don't have yet. More info at www.TFU.info for the eggbots.

Transmetal Spittor and Claw Jaw were a real pain in the posterior to find. I got my CJ only because it was a gift, and thankfully it was complete. Never saw the Spittor for the longest time, and most people have no idea what you're talking about when either is mentioned, or think you're talking about the TM2 Spittor or the repaint into RID Slapper.

Of course, the problem is that very few people are looking for them in the first place. Not an iota of interest in either of mine.

Oh, yeah. Forgot about those. There's also a white Metals Rattle (TM Rattrap) puzzle set.

Really? I see them on eBay fairly frequently, and almost always see several at BotCon. (Got Claw Jaw at BC'06 -- he's purty.)

Don't you know how the rule goes? If you look for it, you'll never find it. When you're done, they come out of the woodwork. Seriously.

The JBWII volcano versus set w/ Armor and Snapper is pretty darn hard to find. I've got my MISB specimen (along w/ Diver & Niagra playset) enroute from Japan as we speak!

At least for me, Moon from BWII also seemed rather hard to find. I'm guessing b/c most people simply don't have the desire to own the figure.

for a while, Scorponok was pretty damn rare, and going for quite a bit of money. I'm guessing that's due to the latch in his bee-claw wearing down easily, making it really hard to get a mint one.

i agree with this, finding a nice MIB or MISB or complete skorponok seems pretty hard to do, at least compared with other figs.

I didn't even think about him. His JPN counterpart is even harder to find since it's a little more "show accurate". I picked a MIB specimen up off Yahoo! Japan some time ago and I don't think I've seen him for sale/auction since.

And speaking of JPN BWs, a lot of the smaller basic sized figures from the first JPN release are hard to find. Was able to track down Convobat, Rattle & Airazor, but still haven't been able to get my hands on Megalligator or Kuwaiger (Insecticon).

What about the two American playsets? The whale and the spider ones?
