Macho was one of the best. I grew up watching him, Hulk, Ultimate Warrior, all those guys. A legend, a icon, a man of wrestling. He shall be missed. RIP Macho, may you drop that flying elbow in the big ring in the sky.
I tried looking for my favorite Macho Man Slim Jim commercial but couldn't it. It's the one where you see him as a high schooler and the wrestling coach tries to teach him real wrestling. Instead "Macho Boy" just kicks the coach when he gets down on all fours for the set position. Nevermind, found it.
Very sad to hear of this cause as 1 article said he was one of the great 1's as if you said his name you would know who the hell he was and thats so totally right.
It was REALLY creepy looking back. Just yesterday I saw the interview on The Score where Lanny Poffo was asked about Randy returning to the ring. It's the VERY LAST lines of the interview where Lanny says "he's recently married, he's very, very happy, I'll tell him you said hello, but you'll never see him again" Yipes... I remember seeing him drop that flying elbow the first time and just remembering "Holy.......that guy just FLEW across the ring!" RIP Macho Man. The man may fall, but the Madness lives on! OH YYYYEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
What? Savage is no longer with us? Oh my God... I... I... I don't know what to think. I feel numb. Savage was my Brother's favourite wrestler when we were kids (mine was & still is the Ultimate Warrior). Without a shadow of a doubt, Savage was one of the best performers/characters during his era. Correction - Macho Man was one of the best wrestlers ever. Ever. & now he's no longer with us? Oh my God...
A buddy in my unit called me up at lunchtime and told me what happened. I got back to my office and checked the net, and was heartbroken to see it was true. I spread the word around, and lots of guys were just stunned. I probably remembered him more than anyone else from the good old days of the WWF. Sure, there was Hogan and Andre, JYD, Ultimate Warrior...but the Macho Man just had that distinctive promo style. It grated on me at first, then I grew to love it. I remember I couldn't wait for his Wrestlemania match against Steamboat to reach VHS so I could rent and watch it. One of the greatest matches I've ever seen. RIP Macho Man. Thanks for all the great memories.
Not only is he a great pro wrestler but quite a comedian too. LOL YouTube - Macho Man on Talk Show‏
I found out about it on Fox News. I remember the first time I've seen and heard of Savage was back in 1982.
