Watching RoTF again, (yeah, yeah. I can see the jokes now.) something got me. Bumblebee rips Rampage's arms off and supposedly killed him. But I don't get it. Other TF's in these Movies have had limbs ripped off, why was Rampage the acception? It could be another plot hole or Bay trying to speed up the fight.

    Also, Rampage is freaking awesome.

Well I think B did something to his head cuz when he fell it was all wobly and looked out of place. But in the comics ravage was resurrected.

Base on what I remember, it look likes Rampage's neck brakes after Bumblebee kicks him to the ground.

You must've missed the part where he almost ripped off his head, and that his arms didn't come off at the joints, they came off with bits of his torso, probably destroying his internals.

    He bounced about.

I guess him being a pogo stick with arms didn't help the fight.

    Oh, and question answered.

Yeah, if you look super-closely you can see that the last little bit of connective-cable/spine stuff attaching his almost-completely-ripped-off head to his body actually EXPLODES at the last second while he's laying there, so that's was that.

    This.

The head seems to be the absolute weakest part on the Cybertronian. Take it out/sever it from the body, you not only destroy the control over the body and make it go limp-fish, you also destroy what makes that particular Cybertronian who they are. The Spark chamber can always be repaired and recharged with Energon, but you really can't salvage anything (i.e. memory) from a destroyed head.

I like the neat connection between head-and-spark-based deaths they added to the fold in TF:D otM, too.

The way Starscream's head blows up SO BAD his it makes is spark explode in his chest is just AWESOME. Now that is DEAD, lol.

Sam goes for Sentinel when Optimus shoots him in the spark and it blows a whole out the top of his head, too.

    Daaaaaamn.

While I do like the processor/spark connections, I figured that Starscream's chest exploding was a section of the boomstick that separated and blew up, sort of like a frag grenade (if each individual fragmentation blew up :) )

Well, Starscream got his arm ripped off by Optimus in RotF, and a scene later he slapped it back on like everything was hunky-dory.

My most unfavorite, exaggerated scene of the whole movie.

Well, it is made very obvious throughout the movies that the head is the weakest part of the body.
Brawl is a great example. He took dozens of shots to the chest before his armour was penetrated, yet it only took a couple of shots to the head to bring down the collosus called Demolishor.
Look at Ironhide for example, shot three times in the back. Yet I reckon if that had been a normal cannon, Ironhide would've survived.

Unlike Rampage, Starscream still had one arm to put the other arm back on XD

Thanks, and I can see where you'd get that idea.

I initially thought there must have been a deleted scene showing someone else firing at his spark (someone from Lennox's crew or Bumblebee in stealth mode, for instance) and that his spark-explosion must have just been a relic of a sloppy edit, actually.

But none of those explanations are actually supported by the film itself, whereas the head/spark connection IS...such as the case of Sentinel Prime's death.

So I'm pretty sure about that one.

    :)

Haha, yeah...but I think the fact that his head was severed from his body after the last strands of his neck exploded was the BIGGER problem there, lol.

    ;)

Well let's just say that a Caterpillarcon can put up much of a fight.

Lennox, Epps, and Skorponok's original tail would probably tend to agree, lol.
