I was beginning to paint my Rampage when the thought occurred to me. If I could stiffen his treads, he could stand on his own.

This is a super-rough proof of concept, but seems to me that the best way is to fasten a paper clip to one of his fingers, bend it to shape, and then poke the end through the pin hole on the tread tip.

    So far so good.

Not bad at all. It's a fine idea for displaying him in jackhammer mode.

Hmmm...y'know, if you painted them to look like air hoses or some kind of hose that would be found in a buldozer's tread assembly, that would look fantastic.

When I get a Rampage, I MUST try this trick (although I actually like the quad-leg spider mode better than the Jackhammer)

Right now I guess I'd just pull the clips off since they're not attached beyond wrapping.

Once I find the cleanest way to permanently attach them to the hands, I will just bend them under the alt mode coiled up or something.

Here is a quick idea of clip placement in alt mode:

    Great idea :)

But wouldn't that eventually wear down the clip? Like to the point that it won't hold its shape well to keep him up and maybe even break?

    This is a nice idea.
But here's my thought on this, it would probaly work better if you used 2 pieces of thick wire w/black coating. Cause after time the paperclips are going to wear out and break. But wire is stronger and will last longer during multible bendages. Also it will look cleaner and blend in better with the treads.

I was trying to figure out if it'd be possible to make the tracks themselves solid (in sections), so that they could be lined up to stand in bot mode, but still flex enough for transformation...

    Thanks Cheebs,

that's a fine little mod!! I'll be doing this to mine as well.
To get the paperclip to blend in more, you could just use a lighter to soot the metal - for a fast and effective way to stand Rampage up, your fix is ingenious mate! :thumb

Dude! I've been wondering how to blacken that. I figured paint would crack off as the clip bends but burning might work!

    Awesome.
