So, I am in the market for this combiner from RiD, but which one should I get? The three I know of are the Hasbro Rail Racer, the Japanese JRX, and the Korean JRX. I am pretty sure there is no difference between the korean and japanese ones.

So... which one would you guys recommend? I missed out when RiD was in stores, and I only have Prime and Magnus, and Ruination from that toyline. I do have the green Devastator version of the Build Team, so I guess that counts. But which of the train sets should I seek out?

    Thanks!

I like the Japanese one myself since he has clear windows :)

JRX has clear windows, which can either be good or bad. on the one hand, clear windows are cool. On the other hand, the paint can be kind of sloppy. JRX also has the more understaded "real" locomotive markings (Shinkansen 500 series, E4MAX, Railstar), which are a bit more subtle than the GIANT AUTOBOT LOGOS plastered on Rail Racer if you like your robots to be "in disguise". Either way, you can't go wrong with the figures - they're pretty fantastic no matter which ones you get.

The only difference between them is the translucent parts. They look a lot better, but don't really change anything about the toy. I'd say go for whatever is cheapest and hope it doesn't have loose joints

I actually like the painted windows on the western release. Overall, I prefer it over the Japanese/Korean version.

I have the western release, and it really didn't make much of a difference IMO.

The downside to clear plastic on the Japanese one is it can make Rapid Run's shoulders fragile.

US, Japanese though are both the same great toy. IMO the differences aren't that huge a difference.

Rail Racer (RID - Transformers Wiki)

Tells you the differences between them. Personally, I would go with the Japanese since it's easier to get all three in one go and there are no variants. However, I heard they are prone to breakage and paint scratches so be careful if you going to do much with them.

I have the Hasbro release one & it's one of my fav toys to this day. it's as good as the japanese version.

Either way as some on this thread have reiterated, just grab whatever good deal that's out there.
