So I just got my Ark playset, and I was a little concerned that the previous reports of there being no way to connect the other playsets were true.

It turns out, you can connect the smaller playset to the Ark, in fact I have found 8 connection points total in base mode. (4 male and 4 female)

For those who aren't familiar, with them each smaller playset has had a female port on the left side and a male connector on the right (BB's playset actually has a second male connector on the back side).

I have had one problem with the connectors though: if you connect the smaller playsets together, they slide in very nicely from the side. With the Ark you have to snap the female side over the male. This unfortunately caused some pretty bad stress marks when using the male Ark connector with the small playset's female port.

Sorry the pics are low quality; this wasn't meant to be a pictorial review (like the really nice one posted today). :)

Another piece of bad news: batteries are NOT included. :(

This reminds me of the G1 Metroplex and Trypticon + combiner leaders. Awesome.

That is pure awesomeness! I'd buy if it came with a Commader instead of Leigon.

Um... do you really have to use male and female ports?

    Uh, what?

Yeah... kinda. Otherwise how would you attach them? I mean, you could technically just pose the bases around it.

I assume he's reffering to the terminology 'male and female' - since that's the only way I can see the post making sense.

rxlthunder: I believe that's the correct technical terminology, if that is indeed what you were asking.

Thanks for the updates. If you don't mind me asking, did the stress marks develop on the Ark or on the smaller playsets? Thank you.

I imagine buying a shit load of Cyberverse and putting it all together would look pretty awesome, and a tad adorable.

Don't see the point in it besides being able to keep them all in one place. I love Cyberverse, but this just looks like a bunch of random, out of scale junk clipped onto the ark to me. *hides in corner scare of being killed*

I'm a Huge G1 fan and I thought these were horrible at the time. Still do.

It was the female port on the smaller playsets. I'm exactly sure why, but it did feel pretty tight when I was trying to clip it on. As I mentioned, when you connect two smaller sets, you can slide it together from the side, but the connectors are recessed on the Ark, so that isn't an option (unfortunately).

He meant the way the "base modes" of the combiner leaders attach to them, not the toys themselves.

I can see why one would think that, but I always thought it was pretty awesome. Different strokes for different folks, though :)

No batteries included? Are you sure? Doesn't the packaging state they come with it? 2xAA or something to that effect...

And thank you for posting this. I was wondering what the hell those connector points were for...

I didn't realise it was possible for 20+ years. One day I shall have them all as reissues and try this setup!
