Oh, that guy! I have seen pics of him before, though I did not know that was Shackwave.

That was the Titanium one that was never released. It was really well done, but alas, never saw the light of day.

Even if you took every word there at face value (which I really can't imagine being correct), that would be only 50 years, not 60.

Found some Australian auction listing for an Astro Magnum toy, which listed it as coming from 1970. I also doubt that, thinking the date is either a guess or something similar to the 1970s copyright on Soundwave toys, which refers to the age of the toy line it came from, not the toy itself.

Hmm.... interesting! I still find that difficult to believe, but you're right, if recorded accurately they do appear to be saying there that the mold was developed quite a long time ago. Thanks for the bit of trivia!

I suppose folks did have "Space Race" fever in the '60's, so I could almost believe, with its sci-fi styling, that the mold dates to that time.

Anyway... great mold, whenever it was designed. :)

Yea I noticed that as I re-found the article, oh well what are 10 years anyway. Time flies by.

That'd be the Titanium one, which is not going to be released. (Dammit)

Poor radioshack shockwave. I got him in a steal of a ebay lot last year and I really like how sturdy the die cast handle is.

On the other hand since he's not in demand compared to the more general form of shockwave. Its easy for those interested to obtain one.

I gave up on waiting for Shockwave to be reissued. I just shelled out the $$$ to finally get a vintage minty one. GRRRR
