Thanks I am a very neutral type of person, but if I like something then I'll let them know what I think of it.

Nemesis Predaking- I think I have posted my opinion on your work, if not I'll need to see it, so thanks for the comment.

I think this is how we view Radicons and also our aim as well. Well said, both of you.

I think piggybacking on the previous statement really drives it home for me with things being very tight-knit. The cool thing is that I feel this way all across the board with Radicons, and not to a handful of select chosen ones throned by fanboys. I really hope that Radicons all feel like they are amongst peers and not trying to climb up the stairs to an ivory tower, where only the most skilled hangout. I hope that each person feels valued and that their work is well-respected. I also hope that each person feels they get honest feedback in a positive way. :)

JinSatome - the level of detail on his move-accuracy repaints are simply amazing.
ThaDevastator - like I need an explanation here? Fully articulated G1 combiners in all modes (though he seems to have missed the Seacons for whatever reason). Pure :bay
Anyone with the balls to make a custom combiner (REDLINE, f_r, Ptivite...um...anyone I missed)
    TTT...just TTT

And yeh. There's a lot of awesome people here at Radicons - and I hope to be a part of it someday!

I for one have never felt like I had " to climb up the stairs to an ivory tower, where only the most skilled hangout".
I continue to have a blast craving out my own little niche & style within the Radicons.

Thank you SQ7 for that. I do appreicate the comments I've received I mean I haven't even posted my customs, but I guess being a supportive and positive member of this group of "misfits" I use that term loosely. Now we just need is some females to talk about who they admire because I would like to hear what their point of view is.

Well, I admire you all of course!! You guys/gals are one of the reasons I enjoy this hobby! Here is a list, in no particular order, and certainly not complete! Just the stuff I can think of "on the fly"!!

    Here we go!

REDLINE = Your Menasor is truly inspiring, the springboard for many huge combiners indeed!

FRENZY_RUMBLE = Speaking of huge combiners, F_R's Devastator is awesome! Also your Omega Supreme and Movie Ultra Magnus V1 are too cool! F_R's Paintwork rocks!!

THE DEVASTATOR = The man who can take G1 combiners and fully articulate them, and fully articulate their Gestalt mode, well, that's just masterful! Your great work is definitely an influence on me!

AUTOBOTX23 = The Prime Directive series is such an imaginative and stunning project! I LOVE your TFA: Hot Rod and Cyclonus! Hopefully not an overlooked part of your customs is your bios, very creative and really enhance the character!

PLOWKING = Your TFA: Ghostrider rules! Also your Nemesis Predaking and Alternators Plowking are flawless!

ENCLINE = The TFA: Nemesis Prime with the LEDs, let's just say I now know fear! Your paint work is awesome, and your latest run of HU-FREAKIN-MONGOUS Movie TFs are inspiring!

WIKKID = Your a scratch-build Masterpiece master!! The Combaticons will totally own when done!

SPURT REYNOLDS = The man who could paint a turd and make us want one! I mean, seriously! Do you have magic paint brushes or what?

SHINOBITRON = Your Junkion Bike Bots are the best! Always different than the one before it, but they all have a cohesiveness to them!

PAUL PRIME = A kindred spirit! We do share a love for articulating Legends, and yours prove great things come in small packages!

Lucs = Your Alternator customs are AWESOME! I have yet to try an Alternator, but when I do, I will be studying your work!

VIAGRA PRIME = War Within Grimlock scratch build. 'Nuff said!

NEMESIS PREDAKING = TFA: Dinobot, it's an award winner! As it should be! Your recent Ultra Class Nemesis Predaking is aces!

SUPERQUAD7 = His Alternators Springer is sooo cool! I also love the entire set of Aternator Seekers!!

TONYZCUSTOMS = Excellent paint work! Captain Hulk is just too cool, and all your hero customs show your dedication to your craft!

SABSABBY85 = Her paint skills are breathtaking! Keep it up!

JIN SAOTOME = He's great. We all know that, but I actually admire him more for his ability to make this craft marketable, approachable, and even accessible to the mainstream!

RAVENXL7 = I like this guy's digibashes. I can't digibash to save my life, and he seems to have the ability to convey his thoughts and ideas with this most useful tool!

DEFSTAR = Making accurate labels is definitely a technical art form, He consistently delivers the goods!

SCULPT-BOT Obviously your head sculpting skills are incredible, but also your Brawl and Swindle customs are just bad@$$!!

DYINGWILL3RD = Almost always a fan character, back stories and bios are often a deal breaker with fan characters, Dyingwill3rd delivers!

PRIMULARCHANGEL = Box art. I mean, how do you even do that? I just can't even get my head around it! Amazing stuff!!

CRYO PRIME = Canformers!! Anyone who can use a completely different media and make convincing customs is a genius! You must pee a lot!

TERRORCON KING = Your Movie style Constructicons are a very fresh and original take on a project that can easily be overdone! Bravo!

ANOVASINN = Your TFA: Soundblaster is a standout among all the TFA Soundwave bashes we've seen! The custom work on Buzzsaw is pure win!

If I missed anyone, again I apologize. We are a large community, and always growing, I enjoy looking at EVERYONE's work here! You can always find a fresh perspective on any post!

I would like to personally thank once again: PLOWKING, REDLINE, NEMESIS PREDAKING, and AUTOBOTX23 for their continuous support, mentorship, and motivation. You guys ROCK!! You definitely keep me striving to improve my skills!! I salute you with five BAYS!!:bay :bay :bay :bay :bay

For me, I find the idea that anyone can and does post their custom work here for all to see is a fun idea.

Not everything is top notch, pro quality work. But some times the idea is the thing that grabs us.

I've seen customs that have paint jobs that look like cake frosting, but the overall idea is pretty clever. I've also seen pretty mundane alterations with excellent paint work. Either way, I try to find the best in the hard work of others. I think it's important to understand that the range of customizers is vast. It's not even a matter of age, but of skill level, experience, resources, etc.

The point is, I look for inspiration everywhere. Sometimes I find a poorly executed great idea is more inspiring than a well executed boring idea.

Some of modifications, like the recent articulated G1 toys (brilliant!), to the more elaborate customs (fully transformable scratch builds, combiners with massive modifications, reshells) all offer germs of ideas that can lead to bigger and better things. My honest hope is that some of these modifications show Hasbro that there is a real market for some of these ideas.

In the end, my hope is the work shared here inspires others to strive for a high standard in their execution as well as push the limits of their imaginations.

HAHA!! I have been putting off this thread cause I have to make a list of the works that grab me.

But the first ones that really caught me was Ptitvite's Devastator!!! That made me look at Tfs in a whole new light. Then I saw the Custom Movie toys and was hooked. I also remember seeing a Custom Megatron Hummer. I think it was Lobo. I am sorry if that is not correct. Please tell me if I am wrong. Also, as I got into this more and more, there was a movie payload that was painted like a swat truck or army, I am going to have to find it, and the Radicon said it was for his dad in Iraq. I know the heart that went into that one. Special.

So my list will be complete soon. But for now, I want to thank everyone for the ideas that I still... I mean umm.....yeah... steal.

It's funny, I think we could all spend all day just listing Radicon work that has influenced us. As a newbie, I am kinda dissappointed that I missed out on a lot the guys who came before me, as I hear about their work.

Well, I'd like to piggyback this statement to say that both plowking and REDLINE have busted their rumps to do the things they do for Radicons. I've seen firsthand all of the things they've done behind the scenes as well as the things we all get to see. I have nothing but mad respect for them and their work.

They also put their rubber to the road as well. Both of these guys have made some KILLER customs and I've even seen both of these artists improve and hone their skills as 'bashers. I've seen them continually pushing themselves to make each project better than the last. They also are fine examples of Radicons who care for others and interact well. When each of them takes a staff action, they do so the best possible ways they can and they are fine examples of Radicon members as well. Working with both of them is a sheer joy and a pleasure. :)

    Naw, you're right :)

Well, that's one of the cool things about this thread (and others like it). We can spend our time well giving others praise and tribute while also sharing our own lives and how we have been impacted in the process.

ax23, I'm only disappointed that you haven't been with us longer because you're a respectful and kind person to other Radicons as well as we would have gotten to see more of your artwork! You've sure got a lot of catching up to do! :lol

One of the things we've tried our best to set out to do is continually do what we can to preserve the rich heritage and history of the Radicons and Transformers artwork as a whole. Over the many years of Transformers fandom, people have came and went, and others have jumped on at different points in time. The more we're able keep track of (e.g., uploading and posting photos in threads, as opposed to a host site for photos) is the better we can serve the fandom. One of the things I've loved as a Transformers fan is just getting online and surfing the net for others' things. This is one reason we want everyone to contribute to our customs gallery. We want to have as much content as we can possibly have for others to be able to do the same things. :)

    Oh boy...
K, I CAN'T even attempt to list everyone here that I admire artistically as far as customizers go cause I know I'll leave a few out by mistake.
We all have strengths & weaknesses and it's great to see a variety of talent here.

I will say that when I first came onto the custom scene some people reeeeaaaalllllly didn't like my work(back then) and I took it personally and felt maybe I'm wasting my time, so why bother.
Also at that time there were 3 guys that made it clear to me from day 1 that I was doing something unique and DEMANDED I make more customs !!! :lol
So to Superquad7, Plowking & Vector - I thank you guys for giving me the kick in the bumbum I needed back then, as well as Redline for setting me straight and helping see that I can shrug it off & move on...if I want to.
Also a big kudos to Nemesis Predaking for all his support and help w/Photoshop projects.

Without all you guys...would I even be here ??? :tumbleweed:

Thanks again guys !

See, this a tricky thread and a half; there's artists I admire, and there's Radicons I admire, and naturally there's a ton of overlap. And people will get missed out, simply because I'm too lazy to type that much, and to search through all the galleries to find particularly inspiring stuff.

But I'll throw out a few obvious ones for starters. Maybe I'll come back and add more as I get the inspiration.

First off are the really obvious ones: Redline, Plowking, and Superquad. These guys are what Radicons are all about - not only are they top-notch kitbashers, they're also top blokes to boot. I would (and frequently do) go nocturnal for these guys; I have that much time for them.
On top of that, they're exactly the kind of mods you need on a board like this; friendly and hard-working, and never abusing their mighty powers. And odds are most of us don't even consider half of the work they do behind the scenes.

For all the above reasons except the moderating (and he's good at that too, just not here), I also have to prop Dev. Let's face it, his G1 combiner articulations have inspired a good deal of us for years.

I probably ought to throw in a bone for the inspirational scratchbuilders, including the likes of Jarrod (War Within Prime, nuff said), Dak (Nova Prime, anyone?), Mench0y (Masterpiece Dinobots FTW), JAF (particularly for the other Masterpiece Megatron) and Lobo (Hearts of Steel Megatron).

Yeah, I'm bored with this post now, so I'll come back later for the next installment. :p

Hmm...I don't even know where to begin.

I really don't think I could ever make a list of my favorite customizers, probably because it would be too long. Really, any person that posts a custom that catches my attention(its easy to do) is a favorite in my book.

But, as a relatively new-ish customizer(only about 15 customs to my name), I've got to thank you guys for your input, criticisms, and inspirations. Cause some of the stuff you guys post arent just customs, they're works of art...seriously. I look at them and I think...someday.

But if I do have to mention anyone in particular it has to be...

Shinobitron...well, and his brother. I went to high school with his brtoher and he would always show me the individual customs that he and Shinobitron did and that piqued my interest. The tips they gave me as I was starting out really paved the way for how I paint now(which isnt too shabby i guess).

He's always offered a kind word on figurerealm(another customizing site) and he was often the only one. I really appreciate that he did this, especially because I know I irked him every once in awhile at local flea markets.

but yes, all you guys are great. I hope to impress you someday in the future.
