I can't find the pictures, but back in November 2007, I was trying to repaint a Titanium G1 Ultra Magnus in Diaclone colors. I ended up selling it to a fellow board member because I got frustrated with it.

    Ha ha, awesome thread!

I got into customizing by way of repairing broken G1 toys that were in my collection. Here's a photo gallery of my first /real/ custom:

I took a voyager fallen, made him a new neck, and new ankles. The ankles were made from an 07 deluxe brawl, the neck was lego. And I tried to make him knee extensions, but they didn't work. I never painted it, and it doesn't stand very well, but it works well enough to give him shelf presence, even though he needs a stand.

Well I guess my very first custom was done late '06. A 3" Titanium Prime that I turned into key chain. In fact he's still on my key ring... Except most of his paint is gone, his index finger snapped, as well rifle handle.

Soon after that I tried articulating on of those KO G1 legends sized Devastator. I used one of those Fantastic 4 movie Reed figures that came completely apart and utilized the arms, hands, waist and thighs. I made it lots of 2 part epoxy and had to shorten the legs after attaching the connectors. You could say it'll probably be the only Devastator in existence to have a nice ass.

As far as I can remember my first TF Custom was an Amarda Megatron junker that I repainted to have more of a G1 colour scheme, did it all by brush and I can still using an awful lot of silver paint on him (no primer coat, silver straight over that olive green). Was also my first time using epoxy to change a head sculpt, which I thought came out quite well.

Pictures (glad my picture taking has improved since then):

Let's see, ever since I can remember I've taken things apart and put them back together.
My first custom, more of an improvisation was waaay back in the 80's. I had motormaster and three scramble limbs, don't remember which, but I found a gobot on the playground.
    Sky Jack - Renegade - www.tfu.info
I sanded down his head and the hinges by his head just enough to fit into MM's leg hole, I then had my first and only "mechanical giant" i called it back then.

Other than that, my first "real" custom was taking an armada predacon, bw tm2 dinobot, and armada airazor and turning predacon into the mount of the Unicron Herald's I named "The Harrowed". I don't remember the site that I read that made me do that, but I still have him, never painted him, and still have him. One of these days I'll have to dig him out and finish him......
